Check his interviews and what not, it's always Irish. He's also being marketed as an Irish fighter. It's only the dummies like Nick Halling and Jim Watt trying to claim him as British. Barry MCGuigan is a proud Irish man and that has rubbed off on Frampton. If you're going down the line of bringing in the Commonwealth title, he has several Irish titles too, boxed for Ireland as an amateur. I also quote good
It depends how far back you want to go. If such rankings had existed in the 19th century, the p4p #1 would usually have been a British fighter.
Maybe not officially but Lennox Lewis was without question the p4p #1 in his career at certain points.
Ted "Kid" Lewis and Ruby Robert Fitsimmons who might be the GOAT. Someone could make a case for the Mighty Atom as well at p4p#1
Lewis was never better than RJJ, Hopkins, Floyd or Oscar. Especially after getting KO'd by two journeymen. Let's also not forget that Lewis is Canadian. :yep
Calzaghe was real P4P NO 1 at his peak, as was Lewis, and Brook could easily be in near future!! When will a Yank ever come to the UK and not get Knocked out, that's a more pertinent question I feel. Wilder will be next at the hands of AJ!! ;-)
