Tyson Fury had a moment of clarity and began the arduous journey from obesity to a respectable fighting weight. Kownacki has far less weight to lose , yet he seems to be going in the opposite direction. Has Adam ever spoken publicly about his weight issue? It's seems inexcusable that someone with his potential refuses to take the necessary steps to give himself the best chance of success.

No I don't think he should do it. If he does it he'll lose alot of power and he won't be the best version of himself. That's what happened when Miller dropped to 280lbs for his fight against wach . And Miller said in the press conference he felt drained dropping weight. But all these online "experts" think they know what's best for the boxer. Kownacki will lose weight if he feels it's best for him that's up to him and his coach . But I doubt he will he is where he needs to be for himself

Adam K. vs Chris Arreola. Who can train less for their fight?

At what point does the excess weight come with diminishing returns? He may gain a slight edge in power, but what about the losses in speed ,endurance, etc ?

. It's the heavyweight division he dosent have the muscle mass for the power he wants. Also the weight helps him absorb punches better .now if he gets to big then I understand he's over doing . But he shouldn't try to drop to 220 because some online fans tell him to do it .

“It’s not a Mr. Olympia contest or a bodybuilding contest,” Kownacki told Bo.xingSc.ene.com before a press conference Thursday at Barclays Center. “I mean, I know that probably helps and people probably look at you a little different. But I know I’m prepared to go, in my fights, all 10, 12 rounds. I know I’m always in great shape, even though I might not look like I am.”

Clearly as long as he keeps winning he'll keep coming in overweight. We've seen it enough times with guys like Arreola and Ruiz Jr. Fury got himself in shape but he has in the past on more than one occasion whipped himself into shape when needed to, he was below 250lbs when he fought Wlad and when he fought Johnson which was seen as a step up in class for him and he was also in good shape when preparing for Haye.

Saying Kownacki is not training for his fights is utter bull****. Kownacki is a gym rat.

It's his body composition and he's feeling comfortable, live with that. For sure he could drop some pounds but not much. Actually he lost 5 pounds between his last two fights. Only for the record.

Boxing is no bodybuilding competition. Best example is Gerald Washington who looks like a beast at nearly 37. Didn't help him a lot yesterday.

So far Kownacki is 19-0-0 with 15 Knockouts.

He beat names like Szpilka or Washington in a much clearer fashion than world champion Bummmm Squad Wilder.

    Why changing a running system?

Hopefully not because it's fun to see all those chiseled athletes get clobbered by a fat guy. Kownacki looks just like a slob who spends his days lying on a couch with grease stains on his t-shirt.

That was just an excuse from Miller for struggling a bit with Wach. Wach isn't china chinned so Miller was never going to KO him easily. Overweight boxers are just like every other overweight person they make excuses for their excess weight.

I remember seeing old footage of a younger, lighter Miller sparring with Kownacki and I have to say he looked far better at the lower weight, much better head movement, far more elusive, he actually has decent skills but coming in at over 300lbs he can't move like that. So far it's worked for Miller and Kownacki, mainly because they haven't fought any punchers, but eventually just like with Arreola when they step up they'll get beaten.

Personally I think Kownacki looked at his best vs Szpilka when he was 242lbs. Still big for a heavyweight but light enough that he was faster and moved better. Carrying the extra 20lbs does nothing for him.

With this I agree I meant those online keyboard warriors that want Adam at 220 and shredded with a good physique Adam is great at 240lbs . But he'll come in at whatever weight feels comfortable for himself wherever he feels good. And how do you know it was an excuse for Miller. Did he tell you ?

Come on it was obviously an excuse, he wasn't happy with his performance and instead of saying he just performed poorly he said he lost power at only 283lbs. I mean 283lbs isn't small even by heavyweight standards, was Miller wasting away, lol. Poor Miller someone feed him quickly before he starves to death, lol.

Can't wait for when he struggles in a fight when over 300lbs and he decides to bulk up to 400lbs, he'll be invincible then.

Na it's just over doing it there . It's like the fighters say they'll come in at the weight they feel comfortable
