Will Adrian Diaconu be a real champ or he's just passing by ?

I enjoyed his last fight but the reason was Glen,he made a good fight.Tarver vs Dawson is gonna be like Taylor vs Spinks(god that fight was boring)

How will you feel about Adi if he KOs Johnson in under 8 rounds? Especially considering the extremely controversial decision win Dawson was awarded over Johnson. Would that change your perception?

If Diaconu punches so damn hard, why does he only have a 60% KO rate? Why couldn't he knock out SMW Andre Thysse? Why couldn't he knock out 41-year old Rivera, who got KOed by Jesus Ruiz and Prince Badi Ajamu? Diaconu's punches are powerful when he can set his feet, but he loses all his quickness that way. Against decent competition, Diaconu ain't all that powerful.

As for not ducking, it's not like Diaconu has always been paired up with the toughest competition out there. Other than calling out Dawson (which anyone would do in that position), who has he lined up against who is that dangerous? Chris Henry was mandated, and he was supposed to be able to walk through him (but couldn't). Rico Hoye was put on ***** street by a jab from Clinton Woods, so we already knew he had a glass chin. Rivera and Thysse were washed up old farts who had each lost their last two fights before facing Diaconu. Considering there isn't a single credible name on Diaconu's resume up to this point, I see no reason why Interbox would start to have him fight top competition when they know they can milk him for a lot of revenue if he fights cupcakes in Romania. It just makes business sense. It's not a matter of Diaconu ducking, it's a matter of the matchmaking.

 

He's better than you give him credit,Mayweather going into the Gatti fight had a better KO ratio than Gatti but Arturo was considered the puncher.Thysse has one of the best chins in boxing an up to that point nobody had ever KOd him or KD him in a fight,guys like Beyer,Kessler,Brahmer,Bute and Bika after that.Diaconu was the only one to put him down but he gassed out in the final rounds.Indeed he didn't KO Rivera cuz he boxed more and still it was a good fight plus Rivera stopped Danny Santiago and went the distance with Julio Cesar Gonzales.Chris Henty is a vgood fighter,Diaconu was the first to test him and the guy has a granite chin.Rico Hoye was the favorite going into the fight and we know what happened and lets hope he gets to fight Dawson in the future or Johnson

Rico Hoye wasn't the favorite at all going into that fight. I don't know what you're smoking. Even Teddy Atlas said Diaconu was the favorite.

Thysse wasn't KOed he was stopped,acumulation of punishment,he never went down.And the bookies had Hoye favorite going into the fight,why? I don't know but that is the truth.Atlas never said Diaconu was the favorite

 

I think Diaconu is nothing special, he went tooth and nail against Henry and that guy is not an elite LHW, in my assessment, he is a solid B level fighter and I think a guy like Cloud, with a couple of more fights, will be able to take the title away from him.

I do respect him more than Erdei though, at least he fights game fighters.

He reports what the general odds are a day or two before the fight. It's not like he's making up those odds. If he wrote that the odds were 2.5 to 1 in Diaconu's favor, then it's a pretty damn good indication that Rico Hoye wasn't the betting favorite, like you said.

And if a KO is one thing and a stoppage is another, then explain to me why Diaconu only has 5 straight KOs in 25 fights?
