Or is there a way to make Usyk and Co. step aside for the time being?

Maybe make the winner fight Usyk after?

I don't think it'll make a big difference to the event if one belt is missing, but it would add an extra cherry to the cake if it was AJ V FURY for the undisputed rather than the unified.

Who knows. I couldn't care less about belts, anyway. Why do fans care? Let's just see the best in the division competing against each other.

I'd quite happily watch Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua without any belt on the line.

The reason usyk does not want to step aside is because if AJ loses then the rematch clause will get in the way... Usyk rightfully should not step aside he should push his title shot. A title is the only way Usyk will get big fights at heavyweight .

Hopefully not. It's a dick move by Usyk. As a former undisputed champion himself, Usyk should understand AJ's desire to become the undisputed champ.

Them belts belong to Fury anyway

AJ merely inherited them to keep warm

He can drop all the belts if it means he fights Fury.

Any sane boxing fan will class it as undisputed. What’s Usyk done to deserve his shot anyway, beat Witherspoon

Usyk would be foolish to step aside unless there's a hefty incentive and guarantee of fighting the winner. In reality he's better off forcing AJ to drop the belt, beating Parker (or whomever) and then he holds the last piece of the puzzle for the winner to pursue.

In reality I can't see anyone paying him massive step aside fee for the WBO belt. I've given up the idea of seeing all the belts United, ultimately we know the winner of AJ vs Fury is the undisputed champ in any case.

chuck usually I agree with you. like nobody wants to disagree with the Norris man but this time I have to disagree.

usyk isn’t getting any younger plus he has his own ambitions and career to think about so why would he want to do aj any favours.

Yes you have a point. Usyk isn't Joshua's friend or anything.

This. Usyk is too old to be stepping aside and with no end in sight for Covid it’s to risky to play the waiting game, since for all we know they might shut sports down again. If Usyk gets his chance at Joshua he needs to take it.

This. I’m sure Ortiz is still kicking himself for stepping aside so Joshua could fight Wlad. It was great for Joshua, Wlad, and the fans, but was a very dumb career move for Ortiz. I doubt Usyk would make the same mistake.

100%. Who knows, who cares. You need to be a paralegal at minimum to understand how all the different organizations operate these days. Belts are no different than an inflated currency. Soon boxers will have to carry around a wheelbarrow full of belts in order to call themselves "champ"

If the WBO belt protects him from facing Fury then he will not give it up.
