Will Al Haymon bankrupt Showtime Sports?

There was a time when all this talk about network ratings/budgets, fighter's purses and 'the business side' of boxing got you labeled as a '*****'.

Suddenly, the front page is full of talk of Al Haymon and how deep are HBOs pockets

Things sure have changed on ESB. Wonder why? :think

 

HBO didn't boot Al Haymon or boot him over money.

 

al haymon is a businessman like floyd. they go for the top dollar. they dont care about legacies only money

HBO gave cotto $2m to fight delvin rodriguez in October! a fight showtime rejected.

 

Showtime in time will cannibalise its flock and boot haymon and floyd..

 

So they let one slip through every now and then. So what? How many big fights did Cotto gave HBO over the years? HBO knew exactly what they were doing with Cotto.

 

you say HBO reject poor matchups but out of the 2 networks who's put together the better matchups and cards over the last 2 years?

I sure didn't. Proksa sucks ass and got beat by Kerry Hope. I saw that fight live and I said he'd get KO'd whenever he goes against a big puncher.

and Kovalev didn't even fight Cleverly on HBO. Shillakh is a good fighter, but that fight wasn't hard to predict. The guy's chin is ass. I value Kovalev's resume over GGG's though. He's got some quality wins

 

hbo sucks for a few reasons....

1) jim lampley

2) they listen to the shills paid by bob arum

3) they only give bob arum dates

 

if showtime is paying floyd 30-40mil against maidana, they will lose money.
