yes, it will help him withstand a few more punches than the ww brook would normally be able to absorb.

Ain't no amount of muscle going to protect that chin from getting shattered. Brook bit off more than he can chew here.

It will be like Hopkins Trinidad. Except it won't go 12 rounds.

    Golovkin will obliterate this WW.

Stupid fight. Canelo is a coward.

I think the point was that you wont see a guy whos eaten his way to the weight and looking fleshy. As brook said... he hasnt eaten upto the weight and gone silly with food, he has a nutritionist and is still on a diet to lose weight to make 160... it just skips the extreme weight loss to get to 147

He still is walking into the ring fighting a guy who is a legit 160 pounder. No Welterweight has anything like Golovkin's chin or power.

If anything he might lose the speed advantage he had. The extra weight also might tire him out faster if the fight gets past the middle rounds.

    i agree with moanamcha.
brook is a career 147 fighter stepping up 2 weights .
if brook was a stick and move fighter or had a tommy hearns frame that would suit him better / but he does not and will feel the power and natural strengh of golovkin way more than any 147 fighter where brook always had the advantage.

i expect hindsight will say golovkin was way to strong and big for brook
who will give it his all but his punches will have no effect and brook will get worn down / not being able to keep golovkin off him.

Why? Hes going into the ring at an exact weight (168ish) that he has as a weltereight previously... no difference

Yes i agree but just pointing out he hasnt packed on any muscle... hes just come down slowly with no drain to make 147 and will enter the ring at a similar weight he does as a welterweight.. his performance will only be enhanced without having to drain down but ofcourse the downside is he is fighting a much bigger man than he ever has and the best fighter hes ever fought

It might break his fall to the canvas a bit
