Well I agree with you in the sense that Maidana is a brawler as oppose to a clever boxer, and yes Khan may be miles ahead of him in terms of handspeed, footwork, and techinical ability.

But Khan in the past has struggled with punchers (Prescott) who apply serious pressure (Gomez). Maidana will bring this in abundance, and much more! Since joining Roach, it can be safely said that he's not faced these sort of opponents:

    - Barrera was past his prime and hindered by a gash
    - Kotelnik was durable, but not aggressive in any shape or form
    - Salita, only lasted 72 seconds

So with this in mind, there's little evidence to suggest he can now all of a sudden cope with big punchers. I personally think at this moment in time, a decision to take on Maidana would be a very brave one. I wanna see him be taken in to deep waters (like he was with Limmond and Gomez), before putting him in with world class power punchers.

But I do think in 12 months time (as Khan's progressed more), he will probably outbox Maidana in a 12 round decision.

I agree with you about his last 3 fights but think he would beat ortiz + mediana now then if he came through them 2 he needs 2 be moving on 2 the likes of alexander, urango, bradley or who ever holds the titles at the time hes only 22 so even if he loses its not like he wont come back and hes already lost so doesnt need 2 worry about losing his 0 and they would both (ortiz, mediana) be exciting fights 2 watch where as £15 for 72 sec salita **** me without a shadow of a doubt i could have lasted longer

The majority of Khan feather fisted punches land on the gloves anyway. Plus he has no Chin. None. It is why he is THE most protected and coddled fighter in the World today. They have no confidence in him.

They are trying to put him in there with Malignaggi or Spadafora for christ sakes! Both are as feather fisted as it gets.

so would you class mendana or ortiz to have chins because neither looked 2 have great ones in that meeting plus mediana cant box very well, this should be his nxt fight he will win if he boxes to a plan ortiz would be a more difficult fight if he kept his head and didnt just give up like against medana anyway even if he did beet these ppl would still say they're no bodies ppl love 2 hate khan

I assume English is not your first language so I will answer the best I can.

Roach has already said they will drop the belt rather than fight MM.

Ortiz is a Glass Jawed quitter who is where he is simply because he is a Golden Boy fighter. End of diuscussion.

I don't think Ortiz will be around much longer another quit job or KO will have the public not buying Golden Boys garbage.

They are looking to put Khan in with the biggest name that is feather fisted that they can.

:good I know Maidana is Amir's mandatory, but do you believe that "Team Khan" will take that fight? I have my doubts! And I believe Malignaggi (Or even "Spaddy") will be his next opponent! And you are 100% right if you are a world champion, like Amir, you should be facing world class opposition and that usually means fighting the #1 contender! Having listened to some of the remarks made by (and attributed to) Khan I can appreciate why many dislike him!! He is hugely talented, but he is not the biggest puncher and his beard is pathetic and the amount of protection given to him by his promoter must be considered a significant factor. That said he is young and he has plenty of time to prove his doubters wrong!

Amir does make it easy for people to dislike him! Remarks such as "I'd be a superstar in Britain and the rest of the world if I was white" when he frankly has achieved ****-all to justify such stature is bound to wind up fans and non-fans of boxing!! I have just read a good post by a guy on here (Rico Spadafora) and his analysis of Ortiz is bang-on!! Another GBP hype-job who quit against Maidana!! As you are obviously a fan of Amir's (Nothing wrong with that mate, i'm a fan to, but as a fellow Britain I did take offence at his racist and unjustified remarks, particularly when you consider that he is now a Sky ppv fighter) what do you make of Freddie Roach's remark That Amir "Will give up the title rather than fight Maidana"? As a fan, that sort of talk must make your blood boil!!! Especially when you consider that Amir admitted that he fought Kotelnik because "He was the weakest champion available". Roach works with Amir almost daily, just what has he seen to justify such a remark? A remark that quite frankly does not make Amir look like the superstar he demands us to recognise him as! The fact is that for all his talent 2010 should be the year when we finally see Amir Khan fight a world class fighter who is right side of peak and not a powder puff puncher! But I doubt that he will, and as a result the same questions regarding him shall (unfortunately) remain unanswered!!

I agree his comments do make my blood boil but what he said about being white is right if he was he would have many many more fans in britain, the fact is he is a stereo typical young muslim lad from bolton which for whatever reason lose's him fans he's aware of this and i think its fine for him 2 say it it is true (i am white by the way). If i was him i would rather be remembered for fighting the best about and winning/ losing some rather than fighting the worst of the best and remembered for being a cocky twat from bolton who thinks hes ali when hes more well...................................................... You get the idea

I disagree of them only naz was muslim so the rest dont count and if naz was fighting now in the era were in iraq, afganistan, bnp, terrorism i think ppl would look 2 take out their frustration against him (wrongly in my opinion this is not the way i think) i am the same age as khan and from manchester not to far from bolton and although ppl may not say it out loud i here the remarks constantly made about him and trust me boxing doesnt come into it unfortunately, naz would get the same stick now to just a shame this is the society we live in im sure a lot of other working class brita unfortunately has these same negative opinions
