So for not thinking that Silva was a sleeping giant just waiting for a triangle opportunity to finish Sonnen , im being stupid :huh

So what exactly was Silva thinking / doing being man handled and beaten up (at times in the fight) this is all part of the grand plan , just wait until round 5 ??? :D

And he told Damian Maia on the scales that he's gonna beat him senseless ??? , this isnt fairytale stuff this is MMA , if Silva had a chance of finishing Sonnen rounds 1 - 4 it would of been over , specially after Silva was dropped on the feet in round 1

Where did I say he didn't want to finish Sonnen before the fifth round? He was clearly going for submission throughout the fight.

So you don't understand what the words "consider that possibility" mean? Yeah that is pretty stupid of you.

You didnt !! , Neville did , and from the tone of your post i thought you were backing what he said

Ofcourse i do , it means that i hadnt considered the fact Anderson maybe waiting for his Rocky Balboa last minute stoppage moment and decided it was time he submitted this bum :yep

Sorry i offended you sweet heart :D

Finishing your opponent inside the distance is the most decisive manner of victory available. It is a victory where you don't have to wait for a judges' decision, because you decided the fight on your own. You decided the fight with no need for the best 2, out of 3, officials' opinions.

Getting stopped while ahead on points at the time of a stoppage is a consolation prize for the loser.

Whatever dude. Your lack of reading comprehension is staggering. Especially as Neville15 was supporting your belief that the submission wasn't a last minute hail mary.

Yeah I've got to admit after rereading my post it can come up wrong.

Basically what I meant is that in this case, if the only scenario that you can see is that Sonnen manhandled Silva for 4½ round and that now Silva is afraid to rematch Sonnen then you are delusional.

as thinking the last minute sub was a haill mary finish !

It helps if you read complete sentences. As Neville explained he was saying that not considering Silva set up a dramatic late victory against Sonnen is as stupid as dismissing the victory as a fluke. You very comprehensively explained why the victory couldn't be dismissed as a fluke. Therefore he was not disagreeing with you or calling you stupid, but building on your point.

Ok , thanks for clearing that up :D

Thats not what i was saying , im of the opinion that Sonnen " very nearly " implemented a perfect game plan for what i consider the best fighter on the planet , thats pretty big , but thats not what went down , note " very nearly " , maybe some of my views from previos posts may explain a little better :

Sonnen was submitted , in an MMA bout , that is decisive in MMA terms , its the same as a KO or a TKO in boxing , but in the context of Silva vs Sonnen its not the same as a dominant display followed by a stoppage , never the less its decisive , with the way the fight went i have to agree with ou the case is certainly not closed , but the bottom line is this Anderson Silva finished Chael Sonnen

Sonnen did not get tired and hand Silva his victory , Silva took it with superior skill and tecnique

Sonnen never had the " play it safe " option in round 5 , he had to put Silva on his back to implement his style and impose his will , if he stood with Silva cautiosly and looked to close out a decision , he would of been knocked out :deal , therefore the only real way Silva could of won this fight (the way it was shaping up on the night) is from his back , and guess what happened :-D

My problem with Sonnen is that he lacks power in his ground and pound. I just don't think holding Silva down for five rounds is the perfect game plan. He's too dangerous off his back and he has at least four chances to knockout you on the feet (as he twice very nearly did against Chael in the fight). That's magnified by Chael's poor submission defence.
