Left hooks, sharp jabs or right hands to Kovalev's face. Which will do the damage closing Kovalev's eye? Personally, I think there is no way slow Kovalev escapes Ward's blazingly fast right hands and see Sergie's left eye closed by round 7.
What I fear is Ward will resort to his billy goat headbutts in the clinches Kovalev will retaliate & Byrd will DQ him.
agreed he will spank him like a baby because thats about as much power ward has lol. but once kovalev wakes up in round 3, ward will be braindamaged by kovalevs punches.
Ward has had four very poor boxers in a row and never even marked em up so what makes you think he does it to Kovalev? That said I agree and like he did with Kessler I expect him to go lunging in with his head and even elbows at some point,he's the dirtiest fighter about I reckon.
he keeps that for the gym. he doesnt use his blazingly fast hands on overweight straight from the pub paul smith because he wanted to get the rounds in
Wouldn't know about that but if Ward starts the headbutting & Byrd does nothing about it The Krusher will take his head off. The only way Ward wins is by crooked DQ
He didn't damage barerras eye or any of his other most recent opponents so how would he damage kovalevs eye?
Yeah, I was thinking maybe a glove scuff on Kovalev's forehead or something. If Ward can hang around long enough, he's gonna get banged up like we've never seen before.
That's something to look for early, if the left hook is landing then Ward has a path to victory by wide UD.
