First off, nobody except Mexican casuals believe JC is their hands-down greatest ever.

Chava, MAB, El Terrible...all have arguments to be over him.

Second, no. Mexican boxing has a richer and deeper history than nearly any other country and no single accomplishment in a barren division like heavyweight is going to make one king of that particular castillo.

Disappointed there is no “LOL” vote option in the poll.

Nope, it will just prove that Joshua was severely overhyped.

beating a roided up British Boxer at heavyweight pales in comparison to the rich historical legacy of Mexican boxing in the lower weightclasses.

I assumed this is poorly executed trolling.

Ruiz beating Joshua would rank among the greatest accomplishments ever by a Mexican fighter, like Olivares vs. Rose, Chavez vs Taylor/Rosario/Camacho, Zarate vs. Zamora, Sanchez vs. Gomez etc. Again, not better than those, but definitely in a top 15 if Ruiz did it impressively.

But clearly Ruiz would need a series of great wins to be the Mexican GOAT. The competition for that throne is so tough that its impossible for anyone to claim it on the basis of a single win.

No but anyone who can make the step up to Brit level whilst carrying that much excess whale blubber is an ATG in my book.

I still LOL’ed but for a different reason!
Unreal! Good for Ruiz but he would have to beat Deontay & Fury & then he will surpass canelo & Chavez
