Is Canastota a destination Tim Witherspoon, Mustafa Hamsho, Mauro Mina, Vilomar Fernandez, or Micky Ward will ever reach?

I can see an argument for Ward. Not sure about the others

Just Ward. There's still some other boxers who deserve to get in before all of them anyway.

    Hamsho should be there already.

Do you believe they'll put Micky in at some point, even if 20 years fro now, due to the Gatti trilogy?

I think Ward, because they made a film about him, kinda will press an induction call before many other fighters.

But I would like to see lots more fighters make the Hall of Fame. I think no fighter good enough to fight for an important title should ever be forgotten. They still made history. Maybe they should make extra categories for different levels within the system? Maybe a lesser medal of some kind just for making history?

i can not for the life of me see how Mickey Ward would qualify for the Hall of Fame.... Tim won a version of the title two times at least... i honestly dont know the other fighters after Hamsho

This is not to slight Ward in any way. He was a tough, entertaining fighter... but he has practically 0 chance of ever being voted in!

Too many more deserving fighters are being added to the ballot each year (new candidates on the ballot for The Class of 2021 include Wlad, Mayweather, Andre Ward, Toney and Cotto) - and of the close to 40 (which does not include Micky!) on the "waiting" list, almost all of them would be more likely to get in than him.

I don't believe any of the fighters listed will make it to the hall. Ward never even won a world title. Sure he had an all time great trilogy with Gatti but the hall of fame should be reserved for truly special fighters.

Mustapha hamsho for sure if guys like Mcguigan are in. Hamsho had the strongest mw resume behind Marvin during the first half of the eighties....benitez,minter,czyz,watts, parker(twice),sycpion are a good enough listt of scalps
