The punch that really stands out to me in the 7th that really impressed me was that counter left hook by Canelo with 2:04 left in the round. Golovkin throws a lunging left hook at Canelo with 2:05 left right, Canelo steps back, has his right hand up in perfect blocking position but the Golovkin lunging left never even hits Canelo's glove because Canelo avoids the punch and Canelo counters it with a perfectly-timed left hook that hits Golovkin directly in the face, right as Golovkin was trying to duck the counter. TRIPLE G DUCKED RIGHT INTO IT LOL! That was an amazing punch by Canelo to time that so perfectly.

I mean, you can't ignore that punch. That was a major punch in the round. And right after that is when Golovkin started breathing heavily. There's no question in my mind that that left hook caused Golovkin to fatigue as Golovkin wasn't expecting to get hit by that. He missed that lunging hook wildly, was starting to get frustrated. Then at 2:00 left Golovkin tries to throw a 1-2, Canelo ducks them and counters with a right upper / hook that hits Golovkin right on the ear.

These punches are forcing Golovkin to then double and triple the jab to even up the exchange, because his output can't match those quality punches. And to Golovkin credit, even when breathing hard and hurt by that left hook, right after that he increases his output to keeps himself in the round and triples the jab then lands another jab to keep it close.

It was like Golovkin did some of his best work because he felt the urgency after being hit with those big punches by Canelo. I don't see anyone going into specific-punches in these rounds like I have done here. Lets talk about that counter left hook by Canelo with 2:04 left in the 7th. How good was that punch? And you really have to ask yourself how skilled Canelo really is to be able to get in a punch like that on Golovkin. I mean for somebody to watch that 7th round, to see that punch land, and then say that the 7th was one-sided in favor of Golokvin, I mean what fight are you watching? Are you paying attention to Canelo's output, to these counter punches?

as long as there isn't knockdowns I don't think he will ever lose on scorecards again... atleast not until end of his career when they don't protect him anymore...

That 6th was an even round, could have gone either way. Love how that is always omitted from the narrative, though.

no one active right now. boxing is only a tiny bit more on the up and up than pro wrestling. every pro sport is rigged to a certain extent, boxing is just the top one that is still considered "real"

So were rounds 4 and 5, those were even and could have gone either way too. The only reasons why Golovkin won those is because Canelo didn't win 4 and 5 as clearly as he won the first 3.

Pretty much every round Golovkin supposedly won could have went either way, there wasn't a single round that Golovkin dominated from start to finish. Even Round 7, supposedly Golovkin's most dominant round, Sanchez scolded Golovkin the corner for letting Canelo win the last part of the round, which included a massive uppercut that stopped Golovkin his tracks and several jabs Canelo landed towards the end. Even though Canelo was outworked in spurts, and got hit with too many jabs for my liking, he still landed the best punches of that 7th round, including that brilliant counter left hook with 2:04 left. By the way, why hasn't anyone commented on my post #136?

Even if you give Golovkin the 7th for all the clean jabs, which I have no problem with, I can't believe there hasn't been any comments about that counter hook by Canelo like "yeah shadow that left hook by Canelo with 2:04 left was fantastic, thank you for bringing that up".

You know I took the time to bring that important moment to all of ya'll's attention since we've seen so many comments about how Trella was crazy to score this round to Canelo. Why can't ya'll just say "yeah shadow that was an awesome counter hook by Canelo, really tagged Golovkin." I just don't get it, does a punch like that not count in the minds of Golovkin fans? We can debate the scoring of this round, but we should still be able to appreciate an impressive punch like that by Canelo and how he set that up. Most fans I guess just don't value a well-timed counter like that.

Or until a bigger cash cow comes along. Wouldn't that be poetic justice: Cucknelo becomes B side and gets robbed by the judges.

El Pollo's biggest punch that landed on Golovkin did not even cause Golovkin to blink his eyes! I had the fight, at least 8 rounds to 4, could have been 9 rounds to 3, Harold Lederman had it 8 - 4 Golovkin, Paulie had it 9 - 3 Golovkin, Nacho Beristain had Golovkin winning as well, the vast majority had Golovkin winning the fight, you could hear the boos when Oscar's judges had it a draw! Even El Pollo fans were booing! Bob Bennett was the only one cheering and Oscar..............the draw was planned by Oscar, Oscar is a crook! Oscar will hire Byrd, Byrd and Byrd as the judges, Tony Weeks as the referee so El Pollo can land low blows...........

    Let's see.....

Canelo is the only PPV draw at the moment. ☑

Now with Floyd retired and Pac lining up to be an undercard attraction, that leaves only Canelo with all the PPV pull.... ☑

Canelo is the only GBP star...☑

Canelo will fight in Vegas mainly for the rest of his career bringing in big money revenue for casinos.... ☑

    Canelo has a big following...☑

Canelo sales 1 million PPV or more...☑

The question was if we will ever see Canelo lose on the scorecards again? I don't think so! Too much at stake for everyone involved.
