I was a fan of both ggg and canelo before the fight, I watched the fight 4 times already... there was a vid on YT which had GGG outlanding Canelo 200-100 but of course it was removed for unknown reasons... first watch I had GGG 116-112 up... 2nd watch I had GGG 117-110. Canelo for me won the first 2 and the last 2 rounds on the first watch... watching it the 2nd time I had GGG winning the 12th just about, an argument can be made for Canelo winning round 10 as well.

117-110 how did you come up with that score? Somewhere you got a 2 point round for Golovkin?

So @FastSmith7 , you scored 8 rounds (3-10) in a row for Golovkin. (and the 12th?) And in your view, none of those 8 rounds in a row aside from round 10 are even arguable for Canelo is that right?

And you're calling me delusional do I have that right? 8 rounds in a row for Golovkin, Golovkin getting hit with bombs in rounds 6-9, Canelo outlanding Golovkin in round 5 per HBO live punch stats. Lederman scoring round 3 to Canelo, etc etc etc.

I had rounds 1-4 to Canelo, I gave Golovkin the 5th even though Canelo was winning it, Golovkin landed that right hand, I gave Golovkin that round. The 6th, toss-up, impressive stuff from Canelo there, the 7th, I gave it to Golovkin for the clean jabs but it was close. 8 and 9, toss-ups, Canelo landed the better punches, Golovkin slightly outworked him with aggression, but not with clean punching. 10,11,&12 hard to give to Golovkin. Canelo was the better boxer round after round, Golovkin did what he had to do, he fought a decent fight but he was not as impressive as Canelo. You can have it 9 rounds to 3 Golovkin, you can score the bout any way you want, but there wasn't a single round that Golovkin dominated start to finish. Even the 7th, arguably Golovkin's best round in the whole fight, Golovkin was hit with some very crisp counter punches including a big uppercut late in the round. Canelo landed another uppercut bomb in the 8th, the 9th, counter left with 1:47 left, big right with 1:37 left. Golovkin landed some jabs, close round. There weren't too many clear cut rounds in this one. Both guys were so committed to fighting their fight it made it hard to score. Why is it so difficult to admit this?

Excellent points, Canelo nuthuggers can't accept that an argument can be made for GGG winning pretty much every round :)

That adds up to 117-111, not 117-110, unless you gave Golovkin a 2 point round somewhere. You are in the minority in your scoring of rounds 10 and 12, and plenty had Canelo winning round 3 as well some had Canelo winning other rounds like round 6.

There weren't too many clear cut rounds in this fight. As I said, both guys were very committed to fighting their fight which naturally makes it a difficult fight to score. We could both sit here and probably find reasons to give our favorite fighter each and every round, but surely some rounds were closer than others and easier to argue than others.

When I watched it live, I honestly had Canelo sweeping the first 6 rounds against Golovkin. There's no way Golovkin won all 6 of the rounds in the latter half of the fight. Canelo clearly won the last 3 rounds, and should've gotten the decision (just my opinion, of course!)

Yeah Canelo was outboxing him round after round. I gave Golovkin the 5th just because he finally did something in landing that right hand and finishing the round strong, but I was really just being generous to him. It's hard to find 6 rounds to give to Golovkin with all the clean punching and ring IQ supremacy Canelo was showcasing.

I know what you mean. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, and almost felt bad for Golovkin seeing him get so flustered and confused. He had no answer for Canelo's speed and defense. Add to that Canelo's punching power which made him tentative. Which rds did you give Canelo and which did you score for GGG? One thing that I thought was interesting in watching a replay of the fight that I didn't catch live, was hearing what Abel Sanchez was saying in the corner. They weren't nearly as confident that they were winning the fight as GGG's fans were. Did you notice that? But a few of the rounds like round 5 were close. in rd. 5 Canelo was more playing into GGG's fighting style, and trading with him. he fared better using his footwork, but rd. 5 had some of the best action lol when they were taking each other's best shots and shaking their head as if to say "that didn't hurt" or "that didn't land"
