I think a large majority of us expects Floyd to win by UD. Mosley had trouble against Cotto, Mayorga and Vernon Forrest. Floyd is a far better boxer than these three, and is either in his physical prime or very slightly past it at age 33. Floyd SHOULD win at the very least, by UD. If he can stop Mosley, which I think he can if Floyd takes some risks, that would be an ATG performance which should put him somewhere in the top 15 or so welterweights. I'll be rooting for Mosley to pull off the impossible, not because I hate Floyd but I love miracles and Mosley would deserve the accolades he's been starving for all his career.
The most likely scenario is Floyd moving and potshoting his way to a decision win and then cry afterwards when Merchant tells him hes boring.
nobody will be surprised if mayweather wins by UD, but evreybody will be surprised when mayweather gets the 10 count in the 11th
All the bookies have this as the likely outcome. I don't see how anyone can be surprised. Unless they've been living under a rock.
I'm expecting Oscar vs Floyd all over again, with Floyd winning a competitive (maybe narrow) but deserved decision. Floyd will begin having greater success in the latter half of the fight, and edge his way safely to a points win. No chance in hell is he going to stop Shane. Because to stop Shane, he'll need to take unnecessary risks. We all know Floyd doesn't take risks if he doesn't need to
No one will be surprised at this - but I believe most will be surprised at the actually outcome of the fight.
Floyd has amazing defense, he is very rarely hit hard. This style is masterful to the knowledgeable boxing fan, however quite boring to the casual fan. If your best skills are defense and hand speed you'll win alotta fights by UD. To me his slick defense is entertaining compared to a shell defense like abraham's.
Judah was able to land solid on him. So was Oscar, and even Baldomir landed a few clean shots on Floyd. Clearly Shane can land on him. Anybody thinking Floyd cant lose is an idiot. Did anybody see Tyson losing to Douglas? Did anyone see Roy getting ktfo by Tarver and Glenn Johnson? Those fights are proof that anything can happen in boxing, even when you're a heavy favorite.
