Will we see Mexican fighter against a Boricua at Heavyweight? It would be interesting to see this fight despite the fact that it would have almost no impact.
If Ruiz beats Haye, which is unlikely, he could fight Arreola. Chris was offered a fight with Ruiz before but turned it down to fight Vitali instead.
Maybe I'm crazy but possibly, just possibly, if Chris had been successful getting someone with Ruiz's level of experience, no matter what anybody thinks of him as a fighter, he may've had a little more ability against Vitali. Ruiz would be maybe much more valuable to Arreola than McCline. Maybe he'd have lost...but maybe he'd have gained more than weight.
Arreola would knock Ruiz out, unless of course Ruiz grabbed his crotch on the canvas again to try to fake another low blow to avoid it, like he did against Holyfield (and others).
He definitely needed more fights against guys like Ruiz to get more experience. I still think Vitali would have beaten him, but Arreola would have had a much better chance if he'd beaten some legit top 10 heavies like Ruiz first. McCline was finished, and other guys like Witherspoon and Travis Walker are hardly ideal preparation for a title fight. Well, that and looking more and more like butterbean.
