There's always a spot in boxing for a well known but beatable fighter (see Adrian Broner).

I wasnt paying full attention to the fight, but as far as I remember the cut was NASTY but was not in a dangerous zone, isnt it?

Even if there is a risk of the cut being opened again, it shouldnt be dangerous, or at least not enough dangerous to not to fight ever again.

    Am I wrong?

When it heals properly, I don't think there will be a risk of it being opened again. It's not in a place where punches can open it.

I don't think that location is where the cut will open again. If it were near the eyebrows perhaps, but in that location it is rare.

exactly what I said. Just a fluke location. Sort of like Hagler vs Hearns.

No need to retire he is still a tough out for almost anyone. As most have said move down to 168 again if he can comfortably do so, compared to 175 it is a wasteland and the fighters are smaller.

The injury was freakish but should heal up well. He has a few draws and split decisions left in him for sure.

I want him to come back but only if it is really healed and can hold on (Per doctor advise).
Otherwise it may open up again and to the point of showing his whole skull. :eeek:

He's in a Glenn Johnson type situation, where he's up in age, the younger guys are all technically and physically superior at this stage... yet he'd still have a good shot on his day at beating any of them. Providing his face can hold up in sparring, I think we'll see him return and I'd like to see him come back, as he always comes across like a decent guy and puts 100% in every time he fights.
