make you an instant All Time Great? Obviously not Pac as he already is one but suppose Khan manages to beat Floyd hypothetically, will this immediately propel him to Greatness? What about any other decent fighter?

Well, he has to make the top 10 #P4P first, and beat some more guys, because "Floyd got old" is a ready excuse if Khan does beat him.

It Khan beats Mayweather, and then adds notable scalps to his resume for the remainder of his career, he could slip into the Top 500 ATG list. The oposition out there just isnt that great, unless a beast who is PAc or Floyd level emerges somehow and khan beats him too

if khan beats mayweather and follows up on it through the rest of his career, he could be an atg

Sorry, it wasn't meant to be a Khan specific question, but more about how much a boxers reputation is enhanced by beating a still top, active legend.

I see Floyd still untouchable now than he was a few years ago. He has kept himself in tip top condition and has infact got stronger overall. The fight against Mosley proved that.

In my opinion, whoever beats Floyd (except Pac), will be elevated to near Greatness.....

greatness has to be proven over a period of time. beating floyd would definitely show a fighter's something. imagine if someone defeats floyd then goes on to lose to bum the next fight.. you wouldn't call that great. there needs to be a period of domination but a win over floyd is a big shoot up already in status. with how floyd's picking opponents, it would definitely be a big deal if floyd lost.

    Think about it this way.....

Buster Douglas beat Tyson, but rarely is he in discussion as anything other than the man who beat Mike

Leonard and White Boy, you have a point. Though it can be argued that Tyson is not in the same league as someone like Floyd. Although i like Tyson very much, he however had a very short domination and struggled when things didn't go his way. Floyd has completely dominated over a very long period, beating better opponents and still looks unbeatable.

Also, it is very unlikely that the boxer to beat Floyd will lose against a bum.
