Did Wilder retire him? For a guy with so many excuses for his defeat, he sure has taken his time about getting back in the ring to try to prove he's better than he showed.
The problem is Don King... I don't even know why he bothered extending his contract with him. He was offered a fight against Ortiz on GGG 's undercard and apparently agreed, but King didn't agree so he didn't signed the fight
he looked **** vs Wilder, slow, flat footed, beaten to the punch. Molina was better for the rounds he was live, and even Duhaupas caused more damage. If he can't do better than he did last time out, just quit, I know he had a medical problem but can that excuse the showing?
Stiverne is a decent fighter. A good brawler at least.I don't think he can be evaluated by Wilder's voluntary performances as they were by nature completely different fights. Plus he's still the only guy Wilder failed to KO. Put Stiverne in with the likes of Povetkin, Pulev, Takam, Teper, Ortiz or Glazkov and it's a good fight, perhaps even great. He needs to get rid of Don King and be more active. 2 decent back to back wins and he can be someone's mando again by this time around next year.
I really don't think he is. He took way too much punishment in the Wilder fight. Did you see his face afterwards? It wasn't dehydration that sent him to the hospital, it was the damage accumulated in the Wilder fight that sent him there. It was similar to a Chavez/Taylor style beating. Don't think he's coming back folks.
