I think this will show us how price is coming along. John is a good domestic fighter and wont be a knock over job, price has looked good beating nobody that decent so im looking forward to seeing what prices chin is really like because john will catch him at some point. That said i think price wins a late stoppage and starts moving up the rankings quickly. And also i dont know how big bad john can keep that much weight as a boxer, with all the training and doing twelve rounds im not sure how its possible!
Mcdermott will be a test for Price and comes to fight but ultimately Prices power will be too much for big fat John and he will fall over somewhere around round 5-7
David Price is the best prospect in Britain. He stops John in 6. Although, it would be nice to see him get some sort of a test.
Good level testing fight, Big John is one of the most unlucky fighters in the UK. He beat Fury. He beat Williams. Only person to properly beat him was Skelton at his most toughest. Looking forward to this.
I like Price, i always have. He has a good jab and a very good right hand. Hes looked decent against poor opposition and sometimes looked great. I think he will get JM out there pretty quick TBH.
Think he is made to look good because of his last fight. Opinions, it seems rely on a fighter's last fight too much imo - e.g. Khan, Froch and McDermott. I think Price wins comfortably but will be tested more than he has been in his pro career.
Have no evidence to back it up, but is it just me who thinks price has the 'chinny' look about him?? as if he one punch from a brutal KO even though not seen him rocked yet so no reason to beleive this just general feeling
^^^ He was stopped numerous times as an amateur, I believe. If you haven't seen this though I dunno why you'd think it. He's hardly been touched as a pro.
I'm going for McDermott in this one. I picked him to beat Olubamiwo last time. This time I am picking him because I have doubts about Price's overall ability and durability. Firstly, Price has had it all his own way as a pro. Never tested at all. I believe McDermott (who beat Tyson Fury the first time on everyones scorecard) is good enough to test him. Lets talk about how good McDermott is at British level. I thought he won the first Fury fight. I think he would probably beat Sexton and could give Chisora a tough fight. I would pick McDermott over Rogan and Audley. Given Fury's recent showings, I wouldn't even be sure that he would beat John in a rubber match. I believe John when he says he had glandular fever in the second fight because he was gassed and even though he is a fat f*ck, he doesn't gas in his fights (doctors must be amazed). So Price is in with a tough domestic operator here. McDermott is well schooled and will know a bit about Price from their sparring sessions. McDermott will be well up for this and has shown he can compete with the big guys. If he can get inside and work away, I'm not sure what Price can do. Price doesn't look like he knows what to do on the inside apart from keep his hands up and try to move away. He is good enough to keep people away from him with his jab and right hand but what happens when someone can get inside on him? I would pick Chisora to beat him. Then we have to consider his chin. Take a look at Price and then tell me he doesn't have a glass chin. Just look at him! Couple that with his multiple knockdowns in the ams and you have problems. Never been touched on the chin as a pro and I believe Big John has the ability to test that chin with a few flush shots. I think I can sum this fight up in one word; TIMBERRR!!!!!!
As I posted above, he looks timid to me,I dont think Price is going very far, Brit/Euro level but as current heavyweight standards go its not great. Hopefully im wrong.
I think as confidence is often an issue with McDermott I think he needs some success early on - something to build on which could make for an interesting scrap. If he doesn't get it I think it might be an easy night for Price. Can't see John doing much though if he's not in shape (for him that is.) Still think Price has a lot of questions hanging over him. Hopefully this fight will reveal a bit more.
