I backed Zhang to knock down Hrgovic in the first round at 40/1. Hopefully get some good odds on him knocking Joyce down. I really like Joyce and think he will win but he takes so many clean shots his chin has gotta give sooner or later
No, Joyce isn't stupid, and he'll play it safe and take Zhang to jab school like he did with Dubois, then after Zhang starts gassing out is when he'll amp up the pressure and take him out. Joyce is like GGG in that respect, he likes to entertain the fans and if he thinks he can take their power, he walks through them, but when in with a legit puncher, he boxes a little more cautiously.
It will make for a better fight if Zhang somehow manages to drop Joyce. I can't see it happening though. Joyce has hardly been hurt in his professional career so far. Dubois and Parker hardly hurt him. Although Zhang is a big puncher, I can't see him dropping or hurting Joyce.
Anyone can be knocked down or even knocked out no matter how good their chin is. Joyce has a good chin but it would not be a surprise to see him get knocked down against Zhang. Anything can happen in boxing especially at heavyweight.
Right about 37 seconds into the 2nd round Zhang will put Joyce down. It'll only be a knee down but it'll count, not a slip. joyce will get back up and last through the round, get in a little trouble again in the third but survive. Then it's a war of attrition of Zhang's tank. In round 9... well, I'll stop there, I don't want to spoil the ending for you folks.
Its very possible that big bang zhang has enough TNT in those hands to crumble that concrete chin of Joe Joyce.
Zhang is a fighter who will test every chin, even Joyce's, I think that if Zhang hits him clean, he can rock Joyce and then it's all up to him how he recovers...
I would be surprised if that happened. I think that Jojce has more of a reputation for knocking out boxers who hadn't been knocked out before (because of Parker), than Zhang.
Yep this, he's not an idiot, knows when to walk through an opponent but also knows when to stand off, but does so usually just out of range, so still applies constant pressure. He often dances in and out of the edge of range leaving an opponent guessing as to when an attack actually is coming waiting for mistakes to capitalise on. I fully expect Zhang to test Joyce's chin but Joyce is far more defensively savvy than given credit for, while he's no Mayweather he knows to roll with shots and he tends to get caught with right hands due to his busy jab and against a southpaw that isn't going to be a threat in the usual way, so I fully expect the Juggernaut to remain unstoppable.
