He didn’t beat the **** out of him, though, did he? He was being outboxed by Saunders until he cracked his orbital bone which is the least that he could be expected to do given how juiced up Alvarez always is

It gets overlooked how well Saunders was actually boxing in that fight because the outcome was that he got his face smashed in. The difference on the night was athleticism and power. Unfortunately you just can’t compensate for that because of genetics. Billy Joe could have been juiced up with the best gear available (who knows he probably was as I always expect top level athletes to be on something) and he’d still have been overpowered IMO.

Regardless of his personality it’s a shame Saunders hasn’t boxed since, I always enjoyed watching him in the ring.

I thought Bill was a wonderful boxer, but a fairly reprehensible person. Sadly we will never know how good he could have been, he may, may, have had the potential to be one of our country's most skillfully fighters ever. I thought he'd beat Canelo and he was boxing superbly for a lot of the fight. I've often wonder if Karma played a part in his demise as he was vociferous in his criticism of Big Dan for 'quitting' and openly claimed he'd never do that...life bit his arse there...

Billy Joe wouldn't even make cruiserweight now with a full camp :nonono Boxed great against juiced up Canelo. Done much better than anyone expected. Definitely quit that night though , no matter what way you want to sugarcoat it. He has slated other boxers for much less. His pride is shot to bits he will never box again

I outlined pretty clearly why I was comparing them.

Any chance of you rebutting my point instead of trolling?
