With Hatton, it was two things: 1) Hatton has often been described as having a very Mexican style; one Mexican on here said after the Tsyzu fight that "If Hatton wasn't so pale, I'd say he had Mexican blood in him". Now, 2) Hatton admires a lot of Mexican boxers, and tries to emulate their courage in the the ring. I have no idea what it was in the case of Floyd, since he hardly fits either the attitude or fighting style of the stereotypical Mexican warrior.

Floyd wore the sombrero because May 5th was Cinco De Mayo and he was facing Mexican-American Oscar De La Hoya. Ricky wore a sombrero on June 23rd because he was facing Mexican Jose Luis Castillo and he was the "Manchester Mexican" on that night. -------------------------------------------------------- I think Floyd will wear something to mock/**** off the Hatton faithful, and I think Hatton will go back to his regular attire.
