maybe in some parallel universe: i have heard he ko'd golota twice there, unified the titles against lewis in '99, retired in '03 and came back in '07 to become the undisputed champion again.
in this universe - no.

 

To be fair, I think one only need listen to Bowe's patterns of speaking at the start of his career and post-Golota to prove up the fact that his brain is damaged. It is a silly claim that it was all a ploy to avoid prison time. Evander is shot as well, but he doesn't exactly sound like Corky from "Life Goes On," either.

Bowe shouldn't be in the ring; he seems semi-******ed. Blunt, but it's true.

For that matter, Evander shouldn't be fighting as well. That said, I really can't come up with a good reason for Evander not to fight other than it is sad to watch a great old warrior delude himself or be forced to fight just to get out of debt. He's been in plenty of wars, but there are plenty fellows out there who are more damaged than he is (Toney, for one) that continue to make paydays.
