Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson to this day have more fans than Fraud jr

They were true global superstars, unlike Floyd who noone gives 2 shits about outside of America.

broke ppv record twice, it could be a third if he fights pacquiao.
greatest prize fighter in boxing history
biggest boxing attraction the sport has ever seen
im pretty sure his fanbase is bigger than both ali and tyson

All these people saying boxing will be better without him, how? You can say what you want about him but what does that have to do with your favorite boxer? It's like you guys just want him it the sport because you say he's scared of everyone and a cherry picker.. If you don't watch him, make threads about him, read stories about him, and stay off his Twitter, it would be like he did retire to you...

You must be very young if you actually believe what you're saying. Ali and Tyson were the most famous sportsmen and recognizable faces of their respective eras, in a completely different stratosphere to Mayweather.

Pay per view is a very flawed way of measuring a fighters popularity but Mayweather is only 4th when it comes to total PPVs sold:

    1. Oscar De La Hoya
    2. Mike Tyson
    3. Evander Holyfield
    4. Floyd Mayweather jr

Of course if Ali and Tyson existed in todays era they would easily outsell Floyd. Same goes for many fighters from past eras.

Nobody is screwing up boxing any worse that Floyd and Wlad. Together they are turning a once extremely exciting sport into one big snoozefest.

From a purely popularity perspective I think Dempsey may well have been the most popular boxer ever. His fights with Tunney attracted over 100,000 people each.

But in our era it's Ali by a huge margin.
