I mean why did he take this fight NOW!! he got hammered in his last fight, taking a bad beating. and he got a bad eye injury for his troubles. AND he is coming of a year long layoff!!! to me, a prizefighter who really wants to deliver his best performance would not fight for a title after all this without a tuneup. lots of other fighter (especially in europe) turn down such fights unless they are properly prepared.........the smart thing to do. to me, this looks like brewster is just going for the quick buck.
he prolly just wanted a big pay day maybe he lost his hunger who knows. after buster douglas beat mike tyson he became a fat piece of crap
Biggest buck. He was in no position to negotiate after his last fight and injury. From what I remember I think Wlad was trying to fight him after he lost but Brewster thought there was no incentive in giving him a rematch. No the tables are turned and whatever Brew makes he will be wasting it on his hospital bill most likely.
Either he is just looking for a big pay or he is that confident he can beat Wlad without a tune up. I think if it's the latter he is mistaken, but I give him credit for trying.
I wouldn't compare Douglas with Brewster; that's an insult to Brewster. Douglas caught lightening in a bottle one night and didn't even bother to train for his first defense. He just was happy with the payday. Brewster on the other hand, at least stayed in shape and defended his title three times before losing it.
Yes, he's a true fighter who thinks he can knock him out again. I expect him to leave it all in the ring.
Being a Wlad fan, and expecting him to win easy, I am glad this fight is happening. Even if the miraculous happens and Brewster wins (why not, it's happened before) I will stil be glad the fight went down because this is a fight the heavyeight division needed.
I'm sure he'll try, but I doubt this fight will be good to him. No tuneup, long layoff, possibly career ending eye injury - and even weirder, not a single peep out of him since his loss to Sergei. There's one train of thought that says he could have been training in secret all of this time getting ready, but the other is that this is the best fight that he could get and he took it for the money and maybe the thought that he could knock Klitschko out with one punch. I think that he'll get beaten and it will be pretty bad.
Right. Brewster also had a year+ layoff before their last meeting, so the notion that he could have some ring rust is a lousy argument, too. Nevertheless, IF Wlad wins, he will be given little credit. Rather, everyone will point to how supposedly "shot" Brewster is.
i really wasnt trying to compare the two as fighters i have much more respect for brewster than douglas. i was just using that as an example that sometimes people lose the hunger after they win for whatever reason
