I was just wondering about this, because he is moving up 2 weight classes in weight. Will the weight effect his punching power. Will his punches be lighter? His last fight was at 135 so he'll be cutting alot less weight, and maybe he'll be stronger, especially because he's still growing. And I wonder if he'll still be as fast? :think

I seen in one of his videos, that he says that he's already on weight.

I don't think so. He had one punch KO power at 130 and at 135, his power was still very good, but it was more of a break you down and get you out of there. Now that could have been because of his opponents at 135 where tougher as well.

I don't think him jumping up 2 weight classes right away is a good idea

It'll still be above average, but not devastating like it was at 130 or 135.

If he can catch up and cut off the ring on Malignaggi though, he should have more than enough power to bust him up and stop him. Paulie got a gift against Cano of all people in his last fight.

He certainly isnt taking Paulie out easily.

Paulie fought half a fight with a broken jaw against a prime Cotto.

Paulie is one of the toughest guys out there

I doubt he's already on weight. Dude looks big as hell, at least 150 lbs right now. I don't think he will have his 1 punch KO power, but he will have enough to get respect. Good question, though because not everyone is the same when they move up even one division. The guy is moving up 2 division. The only way we'll know is come fight night.

I think Broner can crack and he sits down on his shots as well and they are sharp shots. He will carry his power in my opinion. We will see soon enough.

    It won't be as much...

He was very big at 130.. couldn't even make it really.. rehydrating by nearly 20 pounds beating up small dudes.

Technically, he will be hitting harder. The question is; will the power be as effective against welterweights? It's his first fight up at ww, he'll probably need a few fights there to grow into the weight and be a little more powerful.

Nah even at JWW I think that guys like Rios, Alvarado. Lucas and Crispy can take his power. He won't be a big WW so I doubt that he will crack the solid chins at the weight. That said a part from Floyd the division is very thin at the moment and there are not a lot of iron chin worriors left there. So maybe he will score a couple of KOs TKOs.

    I doubt it.

As you move up in weight, punching power seems to get weaker. The same will happen to Matthysse aswell...

His power will be exactly the same.

His opponents, however, will weigh at least 12lb more.
