chitownfightfan - I pretty much agree.
Was weird how he fought. Did we see him use the left upper to the solar plex even once?

Who knows. Butes next 2 fights will tell the tale.

I believe Lucian's next fight will reveal whether he was indeed a protected fighter or not.
Truly world class fighters can change their strategy and reverse a heavy defeat.
If Bute doesn't take the rematch then we'll know where he trully stands.

And then run into Chad Dawson or Jean Pascal who would beat the tar out of him and finally end the hype train.

Dude, if you see the fight, you'll see - It was a comprehensive annihilation.

    Ignore anyone saying anything else.

    Rabbit punches?

Lucian Bute looked like a rabbit in the headlights in there. He did not win a single second of a single round and completely fell apart whenever Froch started throwing at him.

I think he tried just one of his trademark uppercuts to the body, a punch which did nothing except make Froch grin. When he landed Froch it had zero effect, but when Froch landed on Bute pretty much every shot shook him up and made him back up against the ropes.

This isn't the kind of fight that homefield advantage can change. This was the kind of result that happens when you get two guys in the ring who are not on the same level.

No. why would there be a rematch? This wasn't some close fight up to the stoppage like Lewis - Klitschko for example. Froch won every round and stopped his man in the 5th, you don't see any threads for a possible rematch between Price vs Sexton.

There's a chance of a rematch after every fight, doesn't mean they have to take it.

i think he should, work on the tactics and fight him at home i respect a fighter willing to take the risk inorder to grow than take the easy route.
should have a confidence builder first though.

Over on b-scene they have an interview with Bute's trainer. He doesn't exactly say they won't take an immediate re-match but that's the impression I took. He talks about "re-evaluating" and going back to the drawing board, which leads me to believe they'll do the right thing and walk away from a second fight.

He comes across well in the short interview, much like Bute always does.

I think P4PBute must have read the 'Froch should be disqualified' thread and thought everyone was being serious in it :patsch

This was a potentially career-ending beatdown and you have the nerve to make any kind argument without having seen the fight? Froch beat the living snot out of Bute and it was done cleanly and clinically. Bute's only saving grace is that he didn't hit the canvas (the ropes prevented that from happening). He was taking sickening blows at the end, it reminded me of Jermaine Taylor's head getting snapped back against Froch.

I do think he shojld take it, although I'm not sure the result won't be the same.

That said, I think Bute looked fine up until the 3rd rd. up until the. He was competing nd giving pretty well. He landed some very good lefts in the 1st 2 rounds. He got hurt in the 3rd, but dis throw some effective shots in the 4th.

I think this idea that Bute was steamrolled from opening to closing is a bit exaggerated. I imagine it's probably just peoples take on the overall performances, and the brutality of the fight from about 2:00 of thr 3rd. From then on it was a steamrolling.

If he doesn't demand a title rematch at the earliest possible date(and show much better), it validates all that his naysayers have been saying.

Eddie Hearn said Bute can't rematch for the title immediately as he was just KOd. Therefore I think the options are to either rematch in a non title fight (can't see the point) or fight someone in a confidence booster and then take the rematch.
