Will Calzaghe actually retire ?

I dont care if he retires or not but if he says Froch is the very last fight for big bucks i will say "you cheeky brat" in my own way

 

yeah I think he will, he is no spring chicken, I think he has not looked as good as he did against kessler.

 

I dont think Tarver is a big money fight now to be honest... Froch would represent some $$$ in the UK but personally id love to see him fight Chad Dawson...

 

I don't think Joe needs to prove anything & if he wants to retire I respect this. How many fighters does he simply take apart without looking totally dominant. He gets KD but gets up & outworks his opponents. You can only fight how your opponent allows you. I don't care who whinges, JC beat hopkins who totally dominated a good young fighter in Pavlik. But he certainly didn't fight like that against Joe. Why? Simply Joe never allowed it. Yes they knocked him down but they never looked like doing it again. He outworked lacy, kessler and every other fighter he has come up against. Give the man his dues, he's a great undefeated champion, even if he seems very beatable, he finds the answer to everyone's style. Thats impressive.

I was never interested in seeing the Dawson fight before but i'd like to see it now. I believe Dawson could stop him.

 

I think he might take one more fight, money is going to be a hard thing to say no to.

 

It would be a great fight....what do you think Dawson has that Joe wont be able to overcome?

 

I think Joe would beat anybody else out there. So he could go for his 50-0, retire or take on Dawson. I think dawson will be easy for him.

 

The Jab would be Joes main problem, he hasn't had a bigger southpaw with a jab like Chads before, he would really struggle getting close enough and when he does get close enough he'll be dealing with lightning combinations coming from angles he's not used to because of Chad being a southpaw aswell.
Roy caught Joe quite easily tonight when he threw quick shots, the difference with Dawson is that he'll throw 3,4 quick shots instead of Roys 1 and done.
I overrated Joes power, he really can't punch. If Roy stuck to his own rhythm instead of trying to keep with Joes then it would of been a different fight. Dawson is relaxed in the ring and doesn't fall for feints he would ignore Calzaghes posturing, fight to his own rhythm and land good combinations. Dawson looked very physically strong against Tarver and he could possibly bully Joe around in there i think.

Hopkins should get his rematch I personally believe he won seeing how he scored a knockdown and Joe also lost a point and yet somehow the scores had Joe winning which I can understand but personally BHOP won that fight to me and I am no Hopkins fan either so No bias here.

Also After the amazing fight he did taking apart Kelly Pavlik which was the best Hopkins has looked in YEARS I have no doubt he would have not only won but won EASY if he took that gameplan into a Calzaghe fight. His counter punching on Pavlik was next to perfect and I doubt Joe has the chin to last if Bhop got going with those types of shots

A rematch in England has a nice ring to it for Joe and Hop, Good money and give his English fans a send off IF he can do so. Won't happy but it should

 

Mate a lot of blokes like you are screaming for the Dawson fight for one reason alone , the reason being your desperate to see Calzaghe beaten by any means , Joe would beat the **** out "Fad" Chad Dawson just as he has EVERYONE that has had the balls to get in there with him . i can just imagine the claims after Joe takes another Yank to school , WHO WAS FAD DAWSON ? oh he was just Hype , Simple fact is JOE has beaten all .....That is all ...
