I can't support your theory, since I haven't seen that fight, but its very safe to say that winning in Germany proved to be impossible, and he retired "undefeated".

Calzaghe would have given Ottke a sound beating. In Germany that wouldn't have been enough.

When was Ottke ring champ? I'm pretty sure if you actually do a little research you'll find that Calzaghe is the first ever 168 ring champ. Ottke never held the title and for the best part of their respective careers they mixed and matched no.1 and no.2. Pending on when they fought. Apparently Ottke was at no.1 for longer altogether, nevertheless, he was not ring champ.

Calzaghe has proven himself as a world class fighter over ten years. He's now got another chance to prove himself as the most dominant sm ever. Kessler is at a higher level than Ottke. Calzaghe is at a higher level than Ottke. Just because Calzaghe didn't fight Ottke dosen't mean he's no pride or ambition. If he was anyway like Ottke, he would of retired by now. Ottke was the one who wouldn't leave Germany.

No, because he won't lose to Kessler.

Don't worry, this will soon change. Soon we will hear birds chirping:"Joe was past his best, and failed to cash in before it was too late". "Kessler has now 2 dimensions; jab and Joe's epitaph".

JC still maintains a high speed and workrate at the expense of power. Not sure how his reflexes are, but they are probably faded.

Other than that I agree. Precision beats speed, and Calzaghe does not protect himself too well - he is all offense. Both will be chinchecked, and Kessler needs to look out for uppercuts.

Think that Kessler just brings too much to the table for JC to handle at this point. His topmatches are too far and in between. Time will show, and it will be a match to remember nonetheless.

I agree, Calzaghe is susceptible to the right hand and Kessler will definately not be outclassed like Lacy was. Kessler's style will undoubtedly test Calzaghe and he will have to walk through some big rights to win this fight.

Though I disagree on the outcome. I beleive Calzaghe still has enough speed to get on the inside where Kessler will be overwhelmed. I see a very competitive first half to the fight but Calzaghe's workrate and speed will eventually wear down Kessler to earn a UD.

Ottke's pitter patter and pinch rounds thanks to corrupt officials style doesn't match up well to Calzaghe's super fast offensive skills.

    Plus, Ottke was a fraud.

It's amazing how few of you Germans have cottoned on to Ottke. He knew what the deal was (he knew the score, he knew the ref was their to help him).

No wonder Ottke was allowed to get away with his shenanigans with fans like you around.

Ja, Ottke is de bestershun he nein cheatershun he excitingershun boxenheimer, schnell!

Just like its amazing that Calzaghe could get away with b-lvl fighters most of his career, when his talents had so much more to offer. And none of his fans have been complaining - hell 35,000 turned up to see him fight a club fighter.

I think your last statement just reflects that you are an uneducated troll.

Well, Kessler havent had 20 defences, so I expected more out of a champ. I find it hard to understand why JCs fans didnt.

Seemingly its your vision that is distorted. Not only that your boxing knowledge is leaking like Titanic itself. Moreover could you elaborate on why you think that Kessler is the biggest manifestation of skewed pugilistic distortion? Could you explain from what perspective you take that stand? Or are you just full of empty words?

What is your mythical view on Calzaghe?

On 3rd of November the myth will become legend, and you will then continue to flunk the graduation of masters degree on boxing.

Calzaghe is in a win-win situation now, he is old - if he loses to Kessler, which he surely will then it is ok at this stage of his career and changes nothing - if he somehow wins, then he becomes a super-legend -fullstop-
