I hope so. But probably not. He doesn't recieve the recognition he deserves because ... he's not American.

Unlucky that PBF is in the same era.

definitely. If he beats Hopkins, JMM beats/draws with Pac, and Mayweather is inactive for a year with no fight in sight.

If he had longer time left in his career I think he would, but unfortunately he only has two more fights, he said so himself.

It's not really in his hands as much as it is in those of others...Even if Joe beats an unbeaten Dawson and 2 of the best of the rest at 168-175, if Pacquiao beats JMM and Guzman, Pac is better...if PBF beats Cotto and Williams, he is better...no matter what Joe does...

On the other hand, if Pac loses to JMM or Guzman, Joe would be better if he beat Dawson. Joe would be better if he beat Dawson than PBF if he lost to Cotto and Williams...IMO.

He has to beat someone in the P4P list first.

Wasn't Lacy in the top 10 P4P list at the time, he thought Calzaghe?
Seriously, was he? I don't know.

 No, he was not. He was not even the second best fighter at 168.:good

On the other hand, Kessler was one of the best 10 fighters in the world...and still is!

but with evreybody calling him out n calzaghe expected to fight these legends then maybe he can become 1 even if maywetaher still decides to fight , the problem with mayweather is that he will take a few long months before his next fight where as calzaghe is after a few fights in 2008

At this point Joe beating RJJ would mean nothing . Roy is as finished as last Thanksgivings Turkey.
Beating Taylor or Pavlick wouldn't propell him to #1 either, because neither of them are #1 either.
Joe would be #1f he beat Hopkins AND the winner of Pavlick-Taylor II, AND if Floyd retired.

The only way JC gets even a glimse at top 3 is if PBF retires. We know he's not going to loose. So i dont care who JC fights, he ain't making it to the top anytime soon. Sorry guys!!

Not until Floyd loses (yeah right) or retires (for the 2nd/3rd time).

He damn sure won't be number 1 if he fights B-Hop. You can chalk that up as a lost.
