and the olympians may turn out ok - I like the look of Saunders. Darren Barker seems promising and I'm interested in seeing how Jon Murray gets on.
No. He's retired. My god, how many of these posts do we have to see? Besides, he'll be what, 38 by the time the tournament ends. He'd have no chance against the winner, especially if it's a young fighter.
It would require a financial disaster of epic proportions on his part. Remember - the tourney winner will take 5 fights & then will likely want a break. JC would be 39, if not 40, and inactive for 3+ years. AND risking the precious 0.
They are. Tyson Fury? What a lost cause. I gotta hand it to him though, he's gonna milk his meager talent for all it's worth. By the time he retires from the sport he'll have made millions of drunk Brits who actually think this kid has a shot at greatest. Sorry, but he doesn't have the tools.
Slim chance. However Calzaghe will be pushing 40, and will of been inactive for around 3yrs by the time such a fight could take place. It would really be an uphill battle for him to even consider this, let alone win.
Ye there's plenty to pick from. I'm most excited about the 4 or so fighters around 168. Degale and George Groves etc. They're just starting out and already seem to have a Eubank-Benn feud going on. Should be some great domestic matchups to come in a year or so's time and then the survivors can take it to the world title level.
No he wont return! he would need a long time to get in shape after super-6 have a winner, and to that time i think there are other names more interesting to see versus the winner! I would not mind to see JC back.. but i think he lost the fight-spirit by now, and his hands are ****ed up for good!
Not happening mate. And we Brits do have some decent boxers left, only the fair weather fans don't know anything about them because they don't get the attention of the Hatton's, Calzaghe's or Khan's of this World. There are some decent Brit boxers coming up right now but if the names aren't out there for them to face then you aint gonna hear about them in the back pages of your newspapers.
I don't think so. I think the man is at peace with himself over his time in the sport, I don't think he has the motivation anymore. You are right though, it would be a very intriguing encounter, I'd like to see it too. Can't see it happening.
