    His resume is outstanding.

He is in the elite club of being a 10+ year world champ
    20+ title defences
    Undefeated
Soon to be 2 weight world champ (although that isnt too significant)

Hatton has got alot of the press and many felt his stock was higher than Joe's after his Tzsyu win and unification vs Maussa.

But lets not forget Joe defeated a 32 year old Eubank and has held the WBO title for a very long time. Hatton wasted too much time with his wbu trinket.

There can be no argument now with Calzaghe's recent unification wins vs Lacy and Kessler on who the best fighter is. Calzaghe dominates his best opponents and Hatton has always struggled (except vs Castillo).

Im not trying to bash Hatton here.he may well go down as a top 7 british fighter of all time, but Calzaghe has a strong case for number one..even more so after his next 2 fights.

Lewis gets off with things though because he was a Heavyweight champion and a British one which we've rarely had too though.

I think he shoul dtry and unify all the belts at 175, then he could.

Personally I can only argue that Wilde and Lennox are above him!:bart

I think he will have a case by the end.

As others have said though he is up against some serious competition.

    One of the best!

He will be in the mix. Hios detractors also valid arguements. The funny thing is as his career comes to ane we are not sure how good he really was. He is arguably the 3rd best Super Middleweight in history after Toney and Roy Jones Jnr

Ottke ducked Joe and was clearly not a dominant champion.

32 year old Eubank and prime Lacy and Kessler is better than a shot Tzsyu and Castillo

Being a multi weight champion is not that significant if u dont fight the best in each divison and proves your ignorance. I have as much respect for a fighter that cleans out and unifies a division.

If you think the WBU and WBO are on the same level then....:lol::lol:

calzaghe is welsh a lot of english fans dont like him, he wore an italian strip when england played italy in the world cup, he always flys the welsh flag not the union jack, he always bangs on about not getting his dues, i would say he will go down as the best welsh fighter not the best british

I think there comes a point where we cant compare the likes of bob Fitszimmons with the modern greats. Different game altogether.

He is Welsh and is proud of his Italian heritage no big deal.

Wales is still part of Britain so he should and will end up going down as the best Britiish fighter.

He's a lock for the top 3 anyway regardless of what happens from now on.

Maybe this thread should be the best british fighters in the last 100 years...

And as Wales is apart fo Britain, it doesnt matter if he waves the Dragon instead of the Union Flag he is still British.

So Tszyu was shot, but Eubank wasn't? :rofl

Prime Lacy? Hahaha! He's ****, who cares whether he was green, prime or shot, all versions are garbage.

    Kessler win was good mind.
