I dont think so, its not like he will be putting weight on in the gym, he just wont struggle so much to make the 175lb limit as he did at 168.

If anything I think this will make him fresher.

JC should benefit from the higher weight, like jc ^ said, he isnt going to be putting on that much more muscle, he just wont be draining himself to make 168, at 168 or 175, JC wins UD

I doubt it, he might lose a little but like Hopkins he will gain something from moving up in weight during the latter part of his carrer.

its not really about the spped but will the weight effect his movement in the later rounds , joe has never weighed this much ina fight before n to go in the later rounds while still through 100 punchs a round will cause quite alot of stamina wear , It will be intresting to see the speed in round 10 becuase before he didnt have to carry extra weight n its all about not how fast he will be if calzaghes style of fast punchs will affect his stamina in the fight!

If stamina is the deciding factor in this fight, it wont be Joe Calzaghe who is struggling.

Joe thinks he will be a better fighter at 175. So do I. No speed or stamina loss, just a little more power.

Hopkins wont have the stamina to cope with calzaghe or the speed!

After JC made 168 the day before, how much would he weigh on fight night? It's the same thing JC aint loosing ****, and Hopkins will get shut-up.

jc and peter5 are right, I think...if he loses handspeed it will be due getting on in age...but I don't think we'll see a slowdown compared to the Kessler fight.

Calzaghe will be stronger and punch harder at 175 though...a weight he is more confortable at. I expect him to put on a better show physically, than he did against Kessler.

I agree with you. There's no doubt in my mind that this will be Joe's best performance to date.

If this will be his last fight, then there is no reason why stamina will play a role.

I doubt it will have any impact at all.
