This fight will be alot more competitive than Cotto IMO, MC looked good for a couple RD's but from the start it was evident that he didnt have what it takes/took to hurt Mayweather. Basically waiting for the eventual Cotto "slow down", Then May would start to bust him up with he repetitive combo's of str8 right, looping right, jab body ect...
We'll have to see. No two fighters are exactly alike. Also, you never know how the judges are going to score it. Alvarez could put up a really good fight and only be awarded 1 or 2 rounds. He could get schooled and be awarded 4 or 5 rounds.
For a big fight like this all eyes will be on what Mayweather is doing & what "Canelo" has done that nobody has done before. This is the type of fight that will reverse the microscope on Floyd... He will need to be 100% on point & not allow Alvarez to do anything out of the norm we are used to seeing Mayweather opponents do Vs. him. Any chance to give the edge to the machine & Floyd will lose the close RD's. It happens when the top dog is being pushed off the throne.
Could be an ugly fight where Canelo gets schooled. It also can be a very rough night for Floyd if everything comes together for Canelo including Floyd's age!!!
Cotto to me only won 3 rounds at most, 2 at least. If he does better than cotto, lets say, wins 4 or 5 rounds then Mayweather will lose on the cards. I have a feeling if this thing is close but clear for mayweather then he may get the end of the stick. He is on his way out, Canelo is the young up and coming guy who, if he wins, becomes an sensation... a rematch would make a lot of money and be huge. Mayweather better make this a vintage performance, or he is getting robbed without a doubt.
Canelo punch output sucks...if he wants to make a statement and win this fight, he's going to have to deliver alot more punches per round and i just don't see that happen, especially if he blows up to his average rehydrated weight.
Well Cotto only won 3 rounds so I'd say Canelo should be able to match that. After all, Guerrero won 2 rounds... It was just that Cotto made the rounds Floyd won "rough" even if they were decisive.
I think Alvarez will do better than Cotto until he gets KO late. Floyd going to step up his game tonight.
