Bud wants the fight. Turkey wants the fight and is willing to shell out the money. Do you think Canelo will take the fight? He doesn't seem keen on fighting Bud stating that he has everything to lose and nothing to gain by fighting Bud. Is it a duck if he doesn't?
It's not a duck because we've seen Canelo batter welterweights\light middleweights about a million times and some good ones at that. It probably goes the Charlo way.
Let see how Crawford does first at 154 before we even talk Canelo. 147 to 168 is a hell of a jump. Crawford is good but he ain't that good.
But if Canelo is offered beaucoup bucks to fight Bud, why isn't it a duck since it's pretty obvious at this point that Canelo is only going for money...
A former roided up light heavyweight champion wants to fight a 37 year old welterweight champ? What guts! ,,sarcasm 101
Canelo and Crawford are not fighting. The sting of the criticism Canelo got from the Charlo fight is fresh, and Charlo was huge. That fight ain't gonna happen. Canelo I think will fight Benavidez, especially if Benavidez is promoted to actual WBC champion, I think that will be his last fight.
Canelo doesn't want to fight anyone with a steady pulse lol he just wants $$$$$ making sparring with no risks Only one Solution I can see ...... BOYCOTT HIS CHARADES!!! Don't buy his crap!!!
Benavidez is not Canelo's mandatory. He's chosen to stay at Light Heavyweight. This content is protected This content is protected It's also unclear if he's ever officially been Canelo's mandatory. It is my understanding that he had the ability to become Canelo's mandatory earlier this year but chose not to enforce it and moved to Light Heavyweight instead and now intends to stay there. We can no longer accuse Canelo of ducking Benavidez. He's run off to Light Heavyweight.
The difference is a lot of fans want to see Crawford fight Canelo and many think he can beat him. Agree with you though that the sting of criticism from the Charlo fight is still fresh and Canelo defending against another guy multiple weight classes below isn't a good look. Which is why I knew it would take some time before this fight could realistically be made. After Canelo fighting Charlo, time was needed to build up Crawford before he could realistically challenge Canelo. I think the Crawford fight still could happen down the road, but probably not any time soon. Because Bud needs to first establish himself at 154, which he's doing next week, and depending on his performance, it may make the fight possible for next year, especially with Benavidez no longer a contender at 168 and with Morrell also fighting a 175 (if he wins and stays there). Crawford remains a big money fight, Jermell Charlo was never as big of a name as Bud Crawford. Bud also is high up on the P4P rankings, and Canelo is also a top P4P fighter. The fight makes sense down the road for all kinds of reasons despite the fact that Canelo will get criticized for fighting a smaller guy, it would make a ton of money.
The size difference in terms of weight is not going to be near as much as people think it is if much difference at all. I've seen Crawford walking around in the high 160s-170s and he looked very lean and he looks significantly bigger and more muscular now. Clenelo comes in at 178-180 and I suspect a SMW Crawford might come in about 175lbs But that being said, it's a fight where Clenelo has a lot to lose and little to gain from beating Crawford so he should focus on beating the best fighters in his weight class and 175 and let Crawford face Smokey Boots Ennis and the top 154 pounders, providing he gets past Madrimov of course
