Will CEJ show any improvement against DeGale?

Probably not and unfortunately I dont think he needs to. Prime Degale -- though still very flawed was leagues better than this delusional clown and would have put it on CEJ so bad that CE Sr. would have re-retired.

I don't think it's possible to stop his bad habits from one fight to the next. Jumping in, which he usually telegraph's, is asking to be countered. Backing out of the pocket with his hands low is another way to be hit easily.

Degale doesn't need to be in his prime to capitalise on CEJ's flaws.

Whenever CEJ has been in with a boxer like BJS and Groves, his level has been exposed. Good fighter but poor boxer. Degale ud.

 

I think DeGale is so past it that Eubank just breaks him down. DeGale will have a solid start and then crumble under the pressure.

DeGale got beaten up twice by Truax. That's a big red flag for me.
Basically, I am not touching this fight. IMO, DeGale is completely done, but he is the far superior boxer. So... Yeah.

 

Eubanks stamina will overide Degales early cleaner work. Degale has a dodgey chin, CEJ could stop him late.

 

DeGale is shot, has a dodgy chin and always runs out of stamina. He's just cashing out with one last big fight before retiring.

Whereas CEJ makes a ton of mistakes but he does have good stamina and has the prospect of more big fights if he can win this. I'd be very surprised if he didn't pull this off.

Maybe if Groves hadn't called it a day Degale would have something further to aim for, as it is I don't think he will be hanging around if this gets ugly. Nothing wrong with his heart, he's proved himself plenty of times, but he really is done at this sport and I think in this last fight he's selling what's left of his name as a scalp to try and rehabilitate the CEJ project.
