Probably a dumb question given the goings on lately, but it'd be good to know so I cancel straight after the Cotto-Clottey fight if not.
I understand that is self serving to want Setanta to continue in order for you to enjoy the Boxing programming, but it appears the management of the company over paid for other sports programming to knock off their competition, gambling with your and the investors money that it would pay dividends. It has failed miserably, defaulting payments to it's contracted rightholders. While it would now appear that their competitors will now pick at the bones of the dead carcass of Setanta and the sports teams rightsholders have suddenly have to adjust their profit bottom line, why would anyone feel compassion for Setanta, who has mismanged and bitten off more than they can chew? When will people realize that supposed CEO's of multi-million corporations gamble and invest with your other peoples money and "hope" that their investments will pay dividends, when their competitors have refused to pay exagerrated amounts of rights fees for programming that will not pay a return. I have heard of the concept of "lost leaders" to bolster their eventual aim and buy rate, but to the investors who believed in Setanta, their return on the millions paid into the white elephant will only receive peanuts in return.Their only salvation,it would appear is that another investor with a knack for purchasing a product at bargain basement prices picks up the fractured pieces,re-organizes,and presents a more reasonable and sustainable business plan.
