Will Chambers do his usual routine tomorrow???

Don't get me wrong, Chambers is much more talented than most people give him credit for, but he is notorious for his methodical/laid back approach. It becomes frustrating when he easily could step up the pace a little and embarrass the guy to the general public (when only diehard fight fans know he is embarrassing the fighter in a different sense).

If he does his usual approach, he will get dawged tomorrow by Povetkin.

So, any optimists out there think Chambers will pick up the pace?

I doubt it. It's kinda like his style to fight that way. If he should win it'll be because he used the jab & Povetkin couldn't land flush on him often enough. Chances are Povetkin will land accurate combos like he always does.

It's mis interpreted to a degree. His style is defensive and sometimes that involves not getting hit more than landing. Its agreed he needs to step up the out put to look spectacular. Yet his accuracy and ability to absorb big shots with his guard and well timed slips, rolls, and movement in combination with his jab often controls a fight. His opponents start realizing they arent hitting him cleanly, get frustrated, and get out landed.

Chambers will BOX as always. Of course he will step it up, he knows he's climbing the ladder and is near the top level:good

I really wish he would step it up because if he did, he can be a great champ one day.

Hopefully he will step up the activity. At least he acknowledged the fact that he simply wasn't busy enough after the Brock fight. Let those hands go, Eddie.

I always got the feeling he just didn't give a **** because he just didn't respect his opponent. If he doesn't respect Povetkin already, he will after a couple of rounds tomorrow night. My feel is that we will see a more 'awake' Chambers than we've seen.

Povetkin pressing will make him more active. I think povetkin brings out his style more. Povetkin wont be able to hang outside and win, IMO:nono

Sometimes it takes the top comp to bring out the best!! This is a showcase for the Winner:happy

Chambers is too small to be much of a force at HW. Really, all he is is a fat cruiserweight. I expect him to be beaten rather soundly tomorrow.

Where and when can I catch this fight? I'm intrigued by this matchup and I think it could be a lot closer than most are saying.

The slick, fat cruiserweight schtick was enough for Byrd to acquire a strap. :yep

And honestly, I don't think Chambers right now is that far behind Byrd at his best.

In about 22 1/2 hours on HBO. Or German tv if you live in Germany. Or a sopcast stream if you live somewhere other than Germany or the US.

I can see Chambers KO Povetkin (eve it's not very likely), but for god's sake I can't see him outboxing Olympic golden medalists. Povetkin UD

I have seen Chambers fight a couple of times, and didn't really pay attention, or don't recall how he looked the first time, but against Brock, he was VERY fast. They call him Fast Eddie for a reason. The guy is fast as hell.

I think against Povetkin, he'll have a hard time dealing with the constant pressure, and will have to move at the waiste alot, as I bet Povetkin will have him up against the ropes alot.

Should be a good fight. I hope Chambes gives a good account of himself, cause hes in there with a real force, in Povetkin.

Chambers is definetly undersized in the Heavyweight division but he does have major skills. I give him a good chance of winning tomorrow. I honestly havent seen Povetkin fight live on tv i just seen him in a few youtube clips. He looks like he has some skill but from some of the clips i seen he pretty much does the same straight right, left hook combination. And he also looks like he's open alot of the time when he rushes in, not that it matters because Chambers isnt a knockout puncher but I think it will definetly be an interesting fight, I put some vCash on Chambers because those odds are ridiculous lol
