    a huge shock for me

I vastly over-rated Eddie's chances, and under-rated Mchunu, huge props to the South African Floyd Mayweather :good

When you move weight classes especially in the upper tiers, a lot of bad things have happened to fighters even better than Eddie (eg., Byrd, Jones Jr. etc). He looked awful tonight and his handlers simply failed to do their homework on little known Mchunu who forced the counter punching Chambers to be the aggressor tonight. Chambers was totally unprepared for that role and as a result I think his ring IQ reputation takes a bit of a hit here because he couldn't adapt and solve Mchunu's particular style. Basically he was beaten to the punch and outsmarted. Hang up your gloves Eddie, you're career at the top is essentially finito.

I never understood why Chambers went back to CW. A 42 year old Thompson is now one fight away from a million dollar payday for yet another HW title shot while Chambers is looking at a train-wreck of a career.

Adamek chased him down. Mchunu probably kicked his fat ass right back up to HW.

I've never been big on fighters moving down in weight. The whole idea of "I've faced big strong punchers, I'll be the bigger man, so I should be able to move down and dominate" is a dumb mentality. It's the same mentality that nearly got Byrd killed in the ring. These CW guys are gonna be faster & more skilled & will present a different type of challenge. This dude really thought he could just make weight & the division was his.

It really makes no sense. Smaller heavyweights are used to fighting with a speed advantage they're not going to have going down. When you lose weight, you can never cut 100% fat and water; a certain % of muscle gets burned along with it, and you can only control where it comes from so much. Your body's already adjusted to the weight it's carried for years. The list goes on and on.

Not to mention, there's the hubris of thinking you'll carry all your punching power down. In Eddie's case, he was also prone to being lazy as far as workrate and conditioning went in the first place.

What you're essentially saying is its easier to be at HW. Its true and its why Wlad shouldn't be ranked as a top 10 ATG.

Neither Eddie or the South African impressed last nite. They either can't engage or wouldn't-which made for a deplorable "fight".
I shall pass on their next fights, thats for sure.:-(

he weighed 202 vs Wlad and was still considered soft, due to him being a lil flabby around the midsection. cruiserweight is 200 pounds. losing 2 pounds from a heavyweight has zero factor in how he did tonight. it wasnt like he went from 240 to 200. he went from 202 to whatever he weighed in last night

Now that's real logical  You never miss an opportunity to bash the current HW champ.

Wlad would beat - most fairly easily - past HW champs. He is easily a top 5 ATG.
