He has like 40 fights, is this guy ever going to get a title shot? Does he have a champions skill? Will he win a belt? Will he become a superstar? Why or why not?
He jumps around weight classes a lot too, any word on which weight class he's sticking with? My guess is 154-160
at this rate, he won't be a superstar... he might win a belt or two. but there would be no respect for him and he will still stay irrelevant to the sport.
Why not?, robberies will be there. Will anyone be surprised to find out his father will be the one and only boxing judge for his son's first title shot?
I'll say this again . . . the guy has no amateur boxing experience what so ever so he's getting the experience on his actual fights as a PRO. Rightnow he is already rated #3 by WBO and WBC . . . so probably he'll have a shot at the title in 2010.
As many belts as there are I would be shocked if he didn't win one. He'll probably buy a vacant one by getting a bout sanctioned against a nobody.
I just hate the nepotism, protection and hype surounding Jr. If he had any other last name, he'd be struggling to get fights, be fed to live contenders and get brutal beatings because he isnt really any good. But beause of who his daddy is he gets lots of easy marks to beat up on, gift decisions, exposure and will likely get a title shot without earning it.
He's a very limited fighter with slow punches and no head movement. He has heart but his stamina looks average. He may be able to win an alphabet if they pick the right moment but the fact they haven't gone for a shot yet shows they think he's far from ready. He's had forty odd fights but has shown very little improvement. If he was going to suddenly make the step up required to be a superstar he would have done so by now.
