Because if he slips into his low-workrate mode, he's going to get punished. I hope Joshua puts up a great effort, with guns blazing. If he does, should be quite a bout.
Good point. Sometimes, though, he just seems to not let his hands go. He's going to have to punch in volume tonight.
No. No he didn't. I'm a Cotto lover from way back and he let Cotto outbox him late. He looked like he had the stronger punch and was landing in the middle rounds but then decided to stalk Cotto without throwing too much. He paid the price.
If you score fights, retrospectively, based on Compubox numbers then you must have limited boxing knowledge.
What do you think? To win the fight by 5 points, 116-111, Cotto had to win 8-4 in rounds with one fewer point for Clottey on a 10-8 first round. Now, if you think Clottey landed all 50 extra punches in the 4 rounds he supposedly won, that's up to you. There are some fights like that, but this wasn't in that mold. Even the first round wasn't like that. A good example of a fighter landing a ton of extra punches yet losing a round is the Cunningham-Adamek fight. Steve would land a huge amount of shots, yet Adamek would knock him down and thus win the round. For Clottey to land +50 shots yet supposedly lose 8 rounds to 4 is garbage, given how this fight played out.
