I just ran into Travis Walker....he is one huge individual...this is going to be one of the best HW fights in AUST for ages

This fight alone is worth watching the rest of the card

    More Ash dribble....

He dopey, we've been trying to explain that this fight carries the entire promotion on its shoulders... The main event is trash... Nothing else on the card excites.. etc etc...

No, this fight is alone worth watching. The rest of the card stinks.

    UNDERSTAND????

But this becoming less and less with Mandy.
Most that just go 'to watch boxing' (on a Mandy card) just want to see Mandy go down, they probably won't even notice Alex.
Of course not, but I'm sure there's plenty of other alternatives.
So you're saying he couldn't have landed that fight on another promoters card?

I agree, and I'll be going to watch Alex, but many will not because the Mandy circus followers are shrinking.

It's Alex's style of fighting that will hopefully appeal to these kind of people. He takes no prisoners and looks for KO's.

There's not many other alternatives at all mate. I reckon off the top of my head Alex wouldn't have appeared on more than 5 TV cards in his career. Most promoters wouldn't want to dig deep into their pockets to pay for these type of opponents when there's nothing really to gain for them.

I'm not saying landing that fight on another promoters card is impossible, but nobody else is knocking on the door, so what's he meant to do?

Start knocking after the Travis fight.

Why should he be kept as the main support to a bowl of soup?? Maybe Boxa should consider headlining Leapai on alternative fight cards with equal support bouts, you know, the kind of stuff Stadiums Ltd. once did.. rather than Alex losing out as an undercard.

He'll be fighting (touch wood) on Jamie Myer's next card in August on Fox Sports and then most likely on Anthony's next card if nothing else pops up. There's rough plans for later in the year too. I suppose the idea is to build up the product before giving him his own headline act. Alex is not quite the drawcard many diehards on here think he is... yet. Given consistent exposure, he can be.

Mundine is not the drawcard some die hards would like to believe either.

Certainly hope Leapai comes through this one unscathed and Jamie Myer has Alex on board also. As long as he's active.... Just shits us to see Alex carrying this promotion whilst Mandy milks the situation.

No he's not, but we've all been to the pubs on a Wednesday night and there's more there than usual to watch him fight, love him or hate him. You nailed it on the head with keeping him active. That's the name of the game, along with gaining exposure.

Sure, but Alex isn't in question here, the rest of the card is.
Fair enough, I won't pretend to know the ins & outs of boxing promotion.
Dunno, but surely he could have scored a similar thing on one of the big Grange cards. They've been fantastic of late.
    Last one was a PPV.

Yep the rest of the card is, no arguments. But that's got nothing to do with Leapai and his team.

At the end of the day, it's Boxa Promotions that have offered him his biggest ever fight. Sure it's a shame the rest of the card isn't up to scratch, but that's not his problem. Nobody else is knocking at the door yet.
