The Welterweight division is so deep and competitive, who knows what could happen by this time next year? Clottey could become a factor as well as Berto. Williams could beat Margarito in a rematch, and you'll see how fast Antonio goes off radar. Cotto could have a few come back wins and wind up facing Williams or Berto, or even Clottey.
You know the whole Cotto-Margarito thing reminds me of Pep and Saddler. Sandy lost to several guys that Willie beat, but Pep could only get one win out of 4 tries with Saddler. Margarito has just the right style to beat Cotto, but it is still possible that Miguel beats everybody else. We'll see and there should be a lot of excitement and surprises at 147 for the next few years.

    This content is protected
    .

    Williams Vs. Cintron
    Cotto Vs. Mosley/Mayorga
    Margarito Vs. Clottey/Judah

They did it on that "Coast to Coast" show..
    Why not do it again.

yes but not immediately, look for cotto to get 2 wins over moderate/good opposition(cintron, quintana, zab, clottey maybe)then go for a margarito rematch.as for who would win,i went for margo on saturday&id pick him at the minute to win the rematch.

Cotto's defense would have to transform to Pernell Whitaker to beat Margarito. Margarito's punch output, upper cuts, chin and height advantage will murder Cotto every time. He's the stylistic 'perfect storm' against Cotto. Cotto may survive the fight-may- but he'll end up battered and on the losing end of things every time. imho.

I think Cotto might pull a ray leonard vs duran on margo...he might fight a couple of fights to rebuild his credibility, then when he sees margo on the slide he will challenge he can win...remember he was clearly winninng after 6...if he can be clearly winning after 8 or 9 then get on that de la hoya bike...he could pull out a decision...given he might be booed, but he'd win...

This will go down... No way in hell Cotto doesn't come back and fight Margo but Margo's has first picking... Either he will take a rematch with Cotto, a rematch with Williams or take the winner of Judah\Clottey. The picture will be much clearer come Sunday. Cotto will take whatever is left over.

Should happen after a couple fights. Obviously Cotto was worn down and beat into submission by Marg., but upon regaining some energy afterwords he easily made the walk into the locker under his own power, even knocking fists with some guy on his way in. He did not appear at that time to be a guy who had been so thoroughly thrashed as a guy who's thrashing had a lot to do with having nothing left in the gas tank. Considering this, Cotto is a good candidate to reevaluate himself and come back and in some ways better than before. I also wonder how much wear and tear Marg. took from the fight. Will he show signs of decline soon? Although victorious, he took a significant amount of damage himself. Cotto's also a few years younger, will this help him recover more than Marg. can?
