Yes Cotto will fight off the back foot, then you find out Cotto is not the Sweet pea Whitaker.

Cotto will have to fight some of the fight on the backfoot for sure, I don't see him standing toe to toe with Margo the WHOLE fight, he's too smart for that. Margo's not Zab Judah and will keep pressure on him the whole time and not just a few rounds which might mean problems for Cotto? I really hope that Cotto doesn't try to slug the whole fight and fights backwards too, I think he can find success actually boxing Margo especially with his wider punches and slugging when the pace/momentum favors him.

Yes Cotto will fight going backwards in this fight. I expect it to be a key role as well. With Margo following Cotto around and Cotto landing while fighting off of his back foot.

That's not Margo's game if he tries to box against Cotto who's the superior boxer he losses period. He needs to make the fight a war and rough up Cotto foul him if neccessary, taunt him and try to fustrate him if he wants to win.

he made that mistake against PW but I dont think its in impossible adjustment for him to make, plus its not like Cotto has the footspeed of SRL and Cotto has never gone backwards for more than a few rounds at a time.

Cotto may not have the footspeed but his footwork is good. If Mosley had problems finding Cotto when he chose to fight off of his backfoot then Margo will as well.

Cotto pulled that outta nowhere with Shane, at that point Shane was frustrated a bit and desperate - being behind on points.

If AM's trainers have any sense whatsoever they will train to cut off the ring . . if they dont he is dead in the water.

I'm pretty sure he won't and will be stalking as he usually does in hope that Cotto stands still and slugs it out. They're expecting a toe to toe battle here and will train for it as well, if it's Mayweather he's fighting then it's logical that he'll train to do that but he's not so don't expect it. Also something to think about is this, if they haven't trained him to perfect that long ago what makes you think they will at this stage of his career?, those aren't straight-out facts but just questions that will all be answered when he's in there against Cotto. I mean they KNEW that Paul Williams will look to box and he still stalked one-dimensionally as he usually does. They're expecting a toe-to-toe battle and Cotto's team will take advantage of that and I'm damn sure when the fight is on everyone will see this.

He fought at least 90% of the Muhammed Abdullaev fight on the back foot. Abdullaev applied just as much foot pressure as Tony, though he didnt throw as many punches, but was a lot harder to hit cleanly.

Just watch Cotto vs. Abdulaev, thats what I'm expecting, Margarito and Abdulaev have a similar defense. Cotto moves from ringpost to ringpost landing combos through margos gaurd eventually closing Margarito's eye and or cutting him right on the brow. ----Thats what my common sense says.

Look at Marg's Eyebrow after Santos headbut. The skin doesn't forget that, and It's right in line for Cotto's signature left hook.

Cotto's bodywork is going to add up though. Its not unlikely that he might step into the pocket often to assert his power.

You forget that margo is 5'11 with a 73 inch reach over the 5'6 cotto with a 65 inch reach. margo can smak Cotto with a chopping right and not even be in range for cotto short counters.

If they didnt see Cotto back up and outbox Shane then they are the only ones who missed that, if they are that dumb then they deserve to lose.

AM made the mistake against PW, in part the mistake was starting too late - he hasnt made that mistake since then.
