To secure the fight that he wants? ... a mega showdown w/ PBF?

I remember PBF saying that Cotto would have to become his own man before the got it on.

    Will it be worth it?

The winner on the 26th will become bigger than PBF was at welterweight.
Will they give him a shot should be the question. IMO.
(Floyd being retired means he has also retired his spot)

Besides, The Golden boy is still worth more than Mayweather....
and as a Mayweather would say "If it don't make dollars, it don't make

    IMO.

The more I think about it the more it seems Floyd's retirement was a way to get out of the Hoya fight for whatever reason. He probably wants to call the shots now. Maybe he will come back once Hoya has got his final fight and Cotto beats Marg.

Cotto needs to keep winning. Thats all he can do. He doesnt need to stoop to Mayweather's level or call him out.

why not call him out at least it will cause a stir and get casuals interested in the fight...it worked for hatton and this i let my manager decide BS aint doing him any favours it actually makes you wonder whether he even wants the fight

I hope he doesn't come out of retirement.. Cotto had already deserved a fight with him and he didn't give it to him.. Enough of Mayweather already..

No he won't. Cotto doesn't mention names and calls out opponents . . . . especially retired fighters.

:rofl  :rofl  :rofl  :rofl  :rofl  :rofl

That does not seem to fit Miguel Cotto's motif. He is more of a fighting champion who lets his fists do the talking for him.

Nah nah nah . . . why play his game? Reverse psychology bruh.

Yes PBF is an attention hoar . . . so what Cotto needs to do . . . is ignore him completely . . . and make PBF suffer the agony of being completely ignored. Let PBF make press releases all he wants without Cotto making any response.

Results? It is PBF who's gonna ask for the fight . . . and he cannot dictate the terms anymore. It's either he fight or he shut up and remains retired. :yep  :good

That's utter bull****. How does Cotto, if attempting to promote himself, make himself a bigger name, or secure more money?

Or did you mean, Cotto, near the end of his career, chooses to promote himself (As Mayweather and Calzaghe did). Then an even OLDER Mayweather will then be ready?

Fitz...get off Floyd's sick. I'm sure Danny Rand would like a turn again...:patsch
