Will Crawford get a signature fight before he retires?

Kostya Tzyu is widely regarded as an all time Jr Welter. His 'signature wins' remain against Zab judah and Sharmba Mitchell.

In that context, TC should be fine

 

Winning 4 belts in a division devoid of talented belt holders means nothing. Only a moron would argue that and act as if he beat a murderers row to get the belts. Indongo and Postol having titles tells you all you need to know about the talent level in the division.

 

I dont think that crawford's resume is such bad. He has the mayweather syndrome, every fighter he destroys becomes insta-trash. It only happens to really really good fighters. And crawford is.

A signature fight? he has only 3 options that can fulfill fans (haters) expectations as a signature fight. Spence, pacman and... broner (?). Because thurman is retired, isnt he? None of them seems to me a "signature" fight either (since I bet no one would give him full credit for pacman).

The truth is that at welter (if we take into account brook) he's fought vs a total record of 138-6. Not bad. He's not opening tomato cans. And I dont say it is outstanding oposition, but, well, good one. Isnt it? not tomato.... decent one.

On the other hand, I agree with the guy who said that crawford doesnt really care about legacy or anything like that. I think the same. Money, and that's all. As a prize fighter does. I dont think that's necessarily bad. They fight for money, the legacy and all that stuff is a plus. But the real reason is M-O-N-E-Y.

 

zab v tszyu was a 'for all the marbles' fight.
nobody knew at that stage that zab was a 'flawed genius'.

his natural talent was off the charts, but he was immature and a hothead'.

crawford, on the other hand, has never taken a fight like that.
