And that's the Crux of the issue. Warren talked of 50/50 for this fight but based on what? Flanagan couldn't sell tickets in a raffle let alone an arena.

The money for such a fight all comes from crolla as he would be the one shifting the tickets.

Maybe harsh but Flanagan is a nobody and even Manchester are not interested in his fights.

Crolla has been fighting top opponents with no easy ride yet his accused ducking?

Firstly I wouldn't believe something hearn says about a rival promoter as fact. Secondly Flanagan does alot of tickets himself and not through the box office as do some of the other local fighters on the bill such as Barrett and Catterall. Flanagan did 800 tickets for the matthews fight in Liverpool. Although it's obvious there won't be as many there as for the Crolla fight I'd still expect a good few thousand.

More importantly why the **** do boxing 'fans' care about numbers, I mean seriously fans should demand to see the best fighters fight each other regardless of ticket sales and purses. Some fans take Hearns excuses, swallow them, then regurgitate them, it's pathetic. This is a clear swerve by crolla (who i'm a big fan of) but more hearn. Hearn's ego and reluctance to work with warren is the main stumbling block here...nothing else.

Or maybe we just accept the business side of the sport. It's naïve to think you can just make a fight between two fighters where the numbers don't matter as they do. Nothing to say the fight couldn't happen I just don't think it would be a 50/50 split simply because one fighter clearly deserved the lionshare.

TBH Crolla v Burns (If burns wins) makes more sense. Crolla staying at LW can win a title and then what? Fight Garcia? Burns wins and fights who, Crawford again?

Makes more sense for them to fight each other as long as Burns wins.

Are you eddie hearn in disguise? No-one wants to see the burns vs crolla fight, crolla struggles to punch at lightweight nevermind light welter.

Please explain how burns vs crolla makes more sense than a world title fight between two manchester lads who went to the same school together? Am I preaching to the brainwashed?

Basically what your saying is that crolla and burns aren't elite level, therefore they should avoid facing the best in the division and hold onto a title at all costs by facing each other? Such bollocks

I think I'm missing something from your posts. What are the reasons 'for' the fight to happen?

So it's pretty clear the numbers wouldn't be great, which in others words means not many people really want to see the fight. We have no real reason to believe Flanagan is more of a challenge than Linares. The LW WBO belt isn't going to mean much to Crolla. So what else is there besides from Flanagan wanting it and them both happening to be from Manchester (which still hasn't drummed up much interest)?

I'm a fan of both Crolla and Flanagan, and I don't have any real preference between Hearn and Warren. It's just not a very exciting fight. The only people who seem to want it are guys who don't like Crolla and/or Hearn, and want to see them beaten again.

You said fans should "demand to see the best fighters fight each other regardless of ticket sales and purses" ... I don't think you're describing Crolla vs Flanagan here as Crolla was just soundly beaten by a superior LW. The sort of guy Flanagan should be aiming to fight if he wants to fight 'the best'.

Nope not at all. Burns has already fought and lost to Crawford convincingly. Who wants to watch that again?

Crolla has already fought one of the best in his division and lost twice. A third fight isn't going to happen and again does anyone want to see him in a non competitive fight contest v Garcia?

Instead of banging on about Crolla v Flanagan why don't you ask yourself why isn't Flanagan fighting the same level of opposition Crolla has been fighting? Crolla isn't the only option for Flanagan but as I said its the best one for Warren as he isn't going to put up the money for top foreign talent to come here for fights Flanagan could lose.

Well other than crolla losing twice convincingly to linares, his best win against darleys perez matches flanagans best win against magdelano. Now franks with BT he'll be able to get flanagan top level opponents, just like he has with the davis/walsh fight. However at the moment i'd still rather see terry in with crolla, than terry in with linares/garcia/lomachenko.

It makes zero sense to have Burns-Crolla. If Burns wins he has two 140 world titles. Crolla is coming off two defeats at LW where he was totally outclassed. You have to earn title shots especially at new weights.

If Crolla is intent on moving up, he should box Ohara Davies for the right to box Burns. Or if Burns loses, then a fight with Burns would make more sense.

That was in 2015 , since then his fought who?

In that time Crolla fought Perez twice, Barosso and Linares twice. Quite the difference wouldn't you say?

If what you say is correct the Crolla fight shouldn't matter too much as there are other big fights out there for Flanagan.

Perez and Barosso are hype jobs, similarly fana and cruz were shite opponents however petrov is decent enough. A win for flanagan in that fight should in my opinion even it up, and setup the crolla fight, which is the fight that people want to see. If terry beats crolla then move onto the likes of lomachenko.

Demand is low for Crolla vs Flanagan. It's a nothing fight. It might have been good as a unification fight, but not anymore.

Crolla moving up to 140 after being outclassed twice in a row for a so called ''world title'' against the shot Ricky Burns would be just ridiculous IMO.
I like Anthony, I'm glad he's got where he has and has made good money, but he has really overachieved - good luck to the lad.

Hearn said he was ok with F Warrens offer for Campbell to fight Flanngan for the title on BN so why not Crolla if the money's right??

Who cares about who sells the tickets or who is better known- if Frank can offer the correct amount get the fecking fight on.

I think the problem is, that Gallagher and Hearn pretty much know that Terry would wipe Crolla out
