Really? Well if FW/Flannagan made an offer Hearn and Crolla couldn't refuse then I'm sure the fight would have happened. Hearn is a business man and Crolla wouldn't turn down a great pay day, so get on twitter and ask FW why he hasn't made an offer they couldn't refuse.

Or is it all up to Hearn and Crolla to line the pockets of FW and Flannagan? Make the fight? Fill the arena?

Fact is Flanagan is fighting 43 year old Fana two fights ago while Crolla was fighting a Linares in a unification fight for all the marbles and a superb purse.. and now it is claimed Flannagan is having half the arena he is fighting in closed off for his next fight, its sad but Flannagan is basically irrelevant.

So I shouldn't believe what Hearn says but I should believe what FW says? I'm not saying you said that but I have to believe somebody, there has to be truth somewhere.

Could Flannagan get a crowd like Crolla did last weekend? Could he fill that arena? I personally don't think he could.

Has Flannagan got a profile as big as Crolla's? Has he had bigger fights? Has he got a better resume?

Flannagan is a good fighter but has no profile or fan base, sad but true. It's a fact he is fighting the like of Fana, a 43 year old, it's embarrassing when you compare it to Crolla's recent run of fights

As for numbers, I don't like it but it is an issue in modern day boxing, every fight now is numbers, numbers, numbers. Sadly they are very relevant, FW talks numbers all the time, purses he has offered, purses he has been offered, all numbers.

In an ideal world the best fighters would fight the best fighter or we would have great match ups but negotiations are a huge part of getting fights like that done and that all comes back to numbers.

Isn't the answer obvious? Campbell will want the WBO belt, Crolla not so much.

I'd like to see it. As people have mentioned how can't people want to see two people from the same city and same school see who's the best. There is a world title still involved just because it's not a unification. It's got all the ingredients if you ask me.

There was no real demand for Fielding Smith in Liverpool but you know what advertising does. By the time the fight came about there was non stop talk about it and they ended up making crazy money for a British title fight apparently. Terry and Anthony are higher level fighters and soon as Eddie opens his mouth about the fight the sheep will be all over it and there will be big demand.

Eddie and Frank could even do a Coyle Campbell and keep talking while they're fighting a couple of soft touches whilst saying 'win this and they're on a collision course' people latch onto this stuff and by the end are gagging for it.

I'm starting to think Eddie Hearn could sell sand to an Arab. He could do a good job of promoting the fight sure, but there's no compelling reason to. With Fielding Smith they were both undefeated and on the way up. It made more boxing sense.

The only reason I can see for Flanagan vs Crolla is that they are from the same place. And I can see why that might not be enough.

If it gets made then yeah sure I'll look forward to it. But I'd rather see Flanagan against the best at LW, and if Crolla thinks he could be strong at LWW (not convinced) then I hope he gives that a good go.

Well then Crolla is a puss if that's the case which I'm sure it's not. The WBO belt is no less worthy then the WBC in that particular division in today's market IMO. It's a local derby, City v Utd - Anthony should want that fight

I've seen plenty of interviews where Terry is asked about the fight. I've never seen one of crolla being asked ?? Eddie must vet the questions first and we all know kugan won't go against him

I'm friends with both fighters and have read Hearn saying Anthony should get £1m to fight Terry, I'd be positive Anthony wouldn't have got half that amount to fight Linares on sat, so how on earth £1m to challenge terry.
Maybe Eddie should promote it and give Ant £1m I'm sure he'd change his tune lol

Looks like Mr Warren is going to have to come up with some money.

    http://www.givemesport.com/1016063-...ay-for-anthony-crolla-to-fight-terry-Flanagan

British professional boxer Anthony Crolla succumbed to his second straight loss to Jorge Linares on March 25 at the Manchester Arena.

He was thoroughly outclassed by the talented WBA lightweight champion as all three judges scored the bout 108-119 in favour of Linares.

Despite the loss, promoter Eddie Hearn is adamant that Crolla is still a bigger draw compared to his rivals.

Fighting Flanagan remains one of the viable choices after he lost his rematch against the Venezuelan on Saturday.

However, Hearn insists a huge payday of over £1million in order to realise the fight in the coming months.

He is thought to have declared his stance to Flanagan’s promoter Frank Warren and is awaiting a response from the rival camp since.

The Group Managing Director of Matchroom Sport believes it is due to the fact that Crolla is a bigger box office than Flanagan, the demand is completely justified.

He further states Flanagan, who is scheduled to fight Russian star Petr Petrov on April 8, is struggling to sell tickets for that showdown while his client sold 4,000 all by himself for the fight against Linares.

Hearn: It has to be seven figures
Speaking on the issue, Hearn was quoted by the Mirror as saying: “It has to be seven figures. You can take well over seven figures on the gate.

“This is not a pop at Terry Flanagan because he’s a very good fighter, but they have sold 400 tickets at the box office with two weeks to go.

“Crolla sold 4,000 on his own, out of his hand. Flanagan is a lovely guy, but he’s not the same level of draw.”

Hearn revealed he will try his best to negotiate terms if Crolla wants the fight to happen, whereas he is also willing to let Warren broadcast the showdown on his BoxNation channel or new TV partner BT Sport.

He continued: “That doesn’t matter. Not if it means Anthony making a lot of money.”

Ricky Burns, too, remains another option for Crolla, according to Hearn, but he has to promote himself to light-welterweight to fight him.

Burns will be facing IBF champ Julius Indongo on April 15 in Glasgow while Crolla could opt to fight him in the autumn.

    Crolla on the potential fight
About the possibility of the fight, the Mancunian boxer said: “Light-welter? With the notice, I would certainly do that. Burns has come up from super-feather, so that’s certainly an option.

“Flanagan is another option and I’ve no problem fighting anyone in this division. I’m 30, but I don’t think I’m an old 30 because I live well. I just want to be involved in big fights.”

Nicknamed “Million Dollar”, Crolla’s immediate focus is to take a break and recover after a gruesome last 18 months, having fought the likes of Linares(twice), Darleys Perez(twice) and Ismael Barroso.

The Brit admitted that if it was not him at the receiving end of Linares’ punches, he would have admired his tenacity and work rate inside the ring.

“If it wasn’t me taking the punches, I would have admired the work he was doing.”

It is a known fact that Hearn and Warren do not share a good camaraderie between them so any negotiation among the camps could take time to come to terms.

Both the boxing fraternity as well the fans across the globe would be hoping to witness the enticing clash in the latter part of this year.

This is promising, especially now hearn is saying the fight can be on BT/BN. However, Warren has already come out and said they want to fight winners not losers. Plus the WBO wouldn't sanction the fight seen as thought anthonys last two fights were losses, and there's no chance terry's vacating the title.

Why do people insist everything that comes out of Hearns mouth is a lie? tbh i'd trust Hearns word a hell of a lot more than Warrens

Somehow on this forum Warren has become the Gospel of truth. Its very bizarre considering one can look at the various fallouts with fighters, court cases etc and Warren's character could be questioned. Yet somehow its like his the beacon of truth while Hearn is the liar.

If Crolla hadn't already won the WBA (and so can consider himself a 'world' champion), I'm sure he would very much want that WBO belt, just like Luke Campbell does.

I am kind of surprised there isn't a bigger rivalry between the two of them. I guess it's partly down to Crolla being such a nice guy. I imagine it's difficult getting any 'beef' going with him...

They are at different stages of their career now. Crolla has tested himself against the 'best' at LW and came up short. Now I think it's Flanagan's turn.
