Too early to say. He has a good jab and seemingly good power and has impressed so far but then Price was crushing everyone too until he fought someone decent. We need to see Dubois seriously tested to see how good he really is as at the moment he's just walking through guys without even getting out of first gear. He doesn't move his head much, could be costly in the future, he stands right in front of his opponents which is fine when you have nothing dangerous combing back at you and we haven't seen how he does if forced to move, either by being pushed back or forced to chase an agile opponent.
There's loads I like about him but he needs better movement and defence if he's to get to world level. Darch caught him a few times - didn't bother him but it would bother him at much higher level.
Exactly what I was thinking. He could be the next big thing, but he better have an iron chin due to lack of head movement.
Hes got to be careful about his weight, I mean it’s not all muscle like aj but he’s already over 17 stone and not fully grown.
seen many fighters like him. very impressive until the opponent starts firing back or in with a tough good journeyman who will not lay down very important to put him in early with tough journeyman tried and tested like a sherman williams/ david pearce to take him rounds and make him keep from picking up to many bad habits which punchers always pick up. i like the look of him / his technique is good albeit it is by the numbers and he is a bit stiff but that could be down wanting to impress family and friends in the audience and that will flow better. as has been said to early to tell if he has a pele reid/james oyabola/david price chin or does he have a mccall chin any fighter like dubois with a mccall type chin would be formiddable indeed. i like the old route of british/commonwealth/european/top 10 fighter that used to be the norm for a world title shot / by that time you know what a fighter ha,s now we have a champ like wilder 39 fights in and juding him v top 10 opposition is partial guesswork.
Could be a serious contender for Joshua in the bodybuilding department. Unfortunately he has a pretty clear disadvantage in his face area.
*Slips into SOG mode* I mean.. it's hard to say It's hard to say, man. He's doing what he's supposed to do. It's hard to say.
But seriously, he looks good so far. He's got pretty good technique, a very nice jab and a powerful right hand. And he's still only a baby so he's only going to get better.
Generally when you have a Pea sized head compared to your body size its not a good sign, that you have much of a chin on you. Just look at David Price. Price's head size is more in proportion and bigger than Dubois.
Technique wise he looks much better than Donkeypotamus and AJ did when they were at the same stage of their careers, IMO, and both of them did improve a fair bit in that regard, albeit Donkeypotamus still leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to that. So if he keeps on improving, which he will, he has a bright future ahead of him. But as with all prospects working their way up, obviously he still has to prove he can take it as well as he can dish it out.
Obviously very powerful, but he is getting hit a lot... No head movement at all, but then again Joshua barely has head movement as well. And damn, Darch is one ugly mfer...
My thoughts exactly... There's also zero need to rush the guy. He's entertaining and interest will build in him if he's built up over the next 2-3 years.
Like many many heavyweights before him, he appears to have power. I reckon he's probably a little more heavy handed than Joshua, although perhaps less explosive. He has a good jab and uses it consistently which is good to see. His feet seem to be in position to punch at any occasion as well. He has not been chin checked, the only time it appeared he got hit was against Mendouo, but that punch hit him in the back and knocked him forward. In terms of chin he has not been tested yet. None of his fights have gone beyond 2 rounds so his endurance is unknown at this point. Defensively, he doesn't move his head that much and did get tagged a couple of times by Darch, bit like Joshua was when he fought him as well. Overall, he seems a good prospect and this combined with the fact that he's only 20 years old means I can see him reaching world level in the future. No need for him to be rushed there though, he has plenty of time.
