Good point. He threw the uppercut a few times against Curtis when he had him on the ropes and got caught with that.

You can really tell a new boxing fan. They always think every good match up will be an absolute historic FOTY-candidate war with thrilling back and forth exchanges, lots of blood, and both men getting up and down from the canvas... It takes them a little while to realize that Rocky is just a movie.

Oh look its the party pooper Nonito Smoak, sometimes that can happen, just look at Matthysse-Molina and Bradley-Provodnikov. Both guys they should have easily beat but they had to go through a rough patches to get there.

I guess I just think higher and better of Golovkin than you do, then.

You look at styles to determine that. If you have two come-forward pressure fighters who throw bombs... you'll more likely than not have a great fight- especially if that fight is also a PPV showcase.

This won't be a Hagler/Hearns, but it'll still be a fantastic fight where you can expect great exchanges, blood, and a KO. Lemieux always put on an exciting show, and Golovkin always puts on an exciting show. You put two and two together... guess what, you're going to get an exciting show.

No you're just being too dismissive of Lemieux.

All of that is great and true...

    ...in theory.

I do think it will be exciting. It will just be exciting in the same way that Canelo/Kirkland was; a one sided quick beating.

I'm not saying GGG will lose, only that Lemieux might drop him. Which is not outlandish in the least.

Look at the thread title and poll question. Look how you answered.

We will see how it plays out.

Yes, but I also think Lemieux has a chance to hurt Golovkin in a way that we haven't seen yet. I don't think Lemieux will last 5 rounds, but it'll still be super duper exciting.

And what did I say that was contrary to that? Because you're acting like I did.

You said "might." This poll asks definitively "will."
